I walked into the Conroe Courthouse with NO attorney. I was up against a Houston Attorney in an attempt to obtain a protective order. In the first ten minutes of sitting on the stand. I was being torn apart by the opposing counsel. I had just been physically, emotionally and mentally abused by a fami...ly member and now his attorney. I will never forget hearing a man stand up and say, "Your Honor, I will be representing this young lady! Will you please grant us a quick recess to gather the proper information?" The Judge looked at me and said, "Do you accept?" I quickly said, "YES, I ACCEPT" The Judge took a break for lunch. During this time Stephen Jackson walked his two associates and myself back to his office. Stephen Jackson delegated the two associates to tackle case law and previous court/ criminal cases on the other party. He told them this is going to be a tough one, but we aren't leaving that room without a protective order. Thirty Minutes later both associates returned with their game plan and asked me a few questions. With my responses they said, "Yes Sir, we have it." My fear left and I had no clue what they thought they had, but their confidence along with Stephen's irrefutable evidence of guilt. I knew I was in great hands. When we walked back into that courtroom Jackson sat down with his two associates and smiled. I have never seen so much fear on the face of both my ex and his attorney. Within 10 minutes of putting the other party on the stand for questioning. We walked away with The Protective Order, a new beginning and I finally had the confidence I had been lacking.
