This lawyer was court-appointed for me. She does not have the time nor interest to represent me. She arrives last to the court with her court-appointed clients being the only ones still waiting. Court-appointed defense should not mean prosecutor advocate. She seemed to only speak for the district att...orney. She did not review the evidence with me. She told me I was guilty and that going to trial would only result in the worst possible of the negative "choices." Is it at all possible to obtain a court-appointed lawyer that will actually represent the client? If Ms. Benavides knows she can't diligently defend or represent the court-appointed client for whatever personal or professional reason, she should request the court to remove and replace her for that client. It is not justice nor fair for her to represent someone she doesn't have time or care for. Moreover, it is downright unethical to represent a client you believe to be guilty and are fighting against that client's best interest. I see Ms. Benavides responds to negative comments. I think the best response would be to do better for your court-appointed clients. CARE. REPRESENT the court-appointed client not the DA/Prosecutor.

I'll start by saying I gave her 2 stars only because my case was dismissed but only after 3 years of going to court and 11 resets, Otherwise I would have given a 1. Her office staff wasn't very professional. She showed up 2 times in 3 years. The first time was the initial hearing and the second was a...fter the 12 time going to court. I would say she did fight for me since my case was dismissed BUT showing up 2 times I'm 3 years and 12 resets is pretty terrible. Anyhow my case was dismissed but I was not happy with her professionalism. Don't get into trouble people or else your life is in someone else's hands. Good riddance.

Showed up in court plenty of times past 12. Which of course pissed off the court personnel. I was miss represented, she was there just to make a quick dollar. I had a assault case and my girlfriend ended up arrested because of her advice. Don't use her unless you want to do all the work your self a...nd use her as a puppet lawyer.

I have personally Hired Ms. Kelly Benavides several times. My First time to hire Her was in 2002 for Several Traffic Violations. She was always punctual, thorough and explained to me in detail what was going on. On those charges she got them Dismissed!!! I was So Satisfied that I hired Her again in... 2005 for a 1st Degree Felony Possession with intent to deliver and Revocation of Deferred Probation. She was very proffesional and again always Punctual and made me feel Like more than just a paycheck! She kept me informed every step of the way!!! They wanted to put me away in Prison and she got Me Into a rehab for Woman With Children. I definitely would recommend Her to anyone. She Knows what she's doing and doesn't just treat you as a client but as a person with feelings

i hired her for my speeding ticket. i went to the court for my trial and it was my turn of trial where my lawyer didn't show up. then the judge helped me reset my court date. i called the law firm for a refund and what the assistant told me was "i forgot to put your trial date on the calendar, thats... why the attorney didn't know that she had a case." all i wanted was a simple refund of $150. and she said all fees are non refundable. she's been lying to me that they reset the date and they forgot to inform me, when i was at the court all the time when everything happened. i dont want to see her lying face. withdrawed from my case. DONT TRUST HER, SHE MIGHT NOT SHOW UP AT YOUR TRIAL DATE TOO
