Dwaine Massey, a board-certified trial lawyer, and the Massey Law Firm, an AV-rated commercial trial firm, represents plaintiffs and sometimes defendants in business divorce, breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, other business tort and catastrophic personal injury matters. For nearly two decades, the firm has represented entrepreneurs, business start-ups, mid-sized companies, and established national and international corporations in corporate and commercial litigation ranging from insurance disputes to trade secret actions. Where possible, the firm operates on contingent or hybrid fee arrangements to mitigate the economic risk to its clients who lack the financial resources to pursue their rights to the fullest or the ability to risk the capital necessary to the aggressive pursuit of their claims.
BACKGROUND
Dwaine Massey was born and raised in Houston. His father, a native of southeast Louisiana, dropped out of high school in the ninth grade to start working as a laborer in the oil and gas industry there. His job relocated him to Texas where he met Massey's mother, a native Texan from Huntsville. She worked in retail. From his parents, Massey learned the value of hard work, a desire to fight for the wronged and a Christ-centered faith.
Massey was educated in the public schools of the Houston ISD and attended the University of Texas on a full academic scholarship. Dwaine graduated with a BBA in Accounting and Honors Business with honors. After obtaining a CPA license, he returned to earn his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He later returned to school to earn a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Massey married his college sweetheart one year after they graduated from the University of Texas. They have two daughters, the oldest of whom was born during Massey's second year of law school and is now in her fourth year of medical school. Her younger sister, a recent college graduate, is living in Brooklyn, New York and commuting to her first job on Wall Street.
EXPERIENCED TRIAL LAWYER
Massey, who is board-certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, has tried numerous jury trials and bench trials and has successfully argued before appellate courts. He does all in his power to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients and is often called on to take over pending cases. Massey believes that our jury process is one of the best dispute resolutions mechanisms the world has ever known. It is not surprise that he has the utmost respect for the collective wisdom of those selected to serve.
