Atty Sloane was retained for a weapons charge on a first time offender. I was never charged in the case, only met and spoke to David Sloane at the time I retained him. He had me sign a "flat-rate contract" which is frowned upon by both the Tarrant County Bar association and the TX Bar Association. ...
When the prosecution backs down and doesn't pursue charges against my client due to my preemptive and proactive efforts to back them down, I do not then give a refund because the client was "never charged." Especially when they come back years after the fact and attempt recoup legal fees actually paid by their former employer. My contracts are in strict compliance with bar rules and this "dispute" was investigated and summarily dismissed by the State Bar.
