Very bad experience

During my consultation, he promised me he would do a lot of things. He might even be able to get my cases dismissed. As time went he never responded to any of my calls and sent an assistant to cover my causes. My payment was made in full. He rarely showed up for court so he sent an assistant th...at was not experienced. He will demand more money and if you don't pay him, He will quickly file for a withdrawal from your case without communicating with you. I never felt once that he was there to help me. All he wants is your money and when he gets it he will not do anything you request. I am not rich, I work every day to make ends meet and I still paid his exorbitant fees. It was hell dealing with him. I felt like I was always in the dark. I am very disappointed in his services. I do not recommend him to anyone. I would watch court-appointed lawyers do more for their clients than the lawyer I paid in full do nothing for me and be very confused. It was very unfair but that is what happened to me.

I'm not sure if this person has reviewed the correct David Sloane. These facts don't resemble any case that I have had. Withdrawing from a case is not something an attorney can do without satisfying the trial judge by written motion there is good reason for doing so. The fees I charge are very competitive with lawyers with similar experience and aptitude. If a client substantially fails to pay the agreed fees after repeated warnings I will withdraw, just like any attorney. If a client moves with no forwarding address and all mail is returned; he refuses to answer or return numerous phone calls for weeks on end; and fails to respond to numerous emails such that I cannot effectively represent him, I will withdraw. This was the case in the one and only case from which I have withdrawn in the last year. Evidence of which was all presented to the judge at the time of my withdrawal.

Hands down the best lawyer in the Dfw metroplex.

David and his staff are excellent in helping you understand everything that is going on. If you want a lawyer to fight for you and not do the bare minimum then David Sloane is the one to contact. I went from having a state jail felony and a class b misdemeanor, to just a class c misdemeanor no felony.... He also got it set up to where my record is sealed. I really have no idea where I would be or what the outcome would have been if I didn't choose David as my attorney. Olga is also very helpful as well and does an excellent job of letting you know when and where you need to be, and also helps you understand things going on with your case. I give David and his team 5 stars because of how they treated me and what an outstanding job David did. Thank you so much for your help.

A great man with determination and knowledge

I was arrested for possession of marijuana under 2 grams. As I am a stubborn man I refused accepting a public defender. After 6 months of DA delays my case was being prosecuted. David did not like the offer and told me plainly that they were trying to use my past troubles against me in spite of havin...g changed my life and not having had ANY criminal issues in nearly 10 years. He advised I refuse which I followed. After two more negotiiation hearings he pulled me into the hallway and informed me that he got the options of 1 year probation or 60 days work detail reduced to 2 DAYS JAIL TIME WITH CREDIT FOR TIME SERVED!! From the moment I met David he was casual, informative, and composed. I was impressed with his open discussion style and straight forward communication. I am a jaded American and have many qualms with the system and you can see David has distaste for the same issues. But he channels it through fighting for citizens like us. Thank you David. Keep fighting the good fight.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
