Hello. I am glad you have chosen to review my profile, and I hope I can help you out with whatever legal issues you may be experiencing.
I practice exclusively in the family law field, helping families resolve their conflicts in the most amicable and financially responsible way possible. I am a trained and highly experienced Collaborative Family Lawyer and Mediator and handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and possession, child support, paternity, termination of parental rights and adoption, international adoption, pre- and post-marital agreements, grandparent access, and basic estate planning.
Mediation is a great alternative where parties not needing full attorney representation can resolve their conflicts with a trained, neutral professional who can help them define their ultimate goals and reach the best possible outcome necessary to preserve healthy relationships and financial security. Mediation also helps save money in that the parties can come in, settle their case with me, and then retain settlement oriented counsel to draft their legal pleadings - a win/win for everyone!
There is nothing more harmful to a family than the horrible conflict of courtroom battles. Collaborative law has developed as a marvelous conflict resolution avenue that allows husbands and wives, parents and children, grandparents, and other family members to reach resolution of their issues in an amicable and effective manner.
I am a single mother of two girls who are now 25 and 22 years of age working in Los Angeles and going to college in Colorado respectively... poor me... My ex and I have always maintained a strong and amicable working relationship that has helped us raise these kids in the best manner possible for divorced parents. This experience helps me help my clients realize what really matters.

Awesome Attorney!!!
I worked with Shannon to handle my divorce in 2015. I found Shannon to be easy and pleasant to work with, extremely knowledgeable and always focused on finding the best solutions to problems. She is a great communicator; I always knew where I stood, and never felt in the dark about what was going on....

Personable
I'm thankful for a lawyer that can explain what's happening in the court and doesn't see the details as unimportant to share with the client. Shannon brought both our adoptions cases before the court. The second adoption Shannon was kindly attentive to our toddler and made the court an experience f...

We won a case that was deemed unwinnable due to Shannon!
We met Shannon through a referral from our neighbor. From the moment we spoke on the phone she put us at ease- not that we would win, but that she knew what we were up against and how to proceed to position ourselves as positively as possible. She was always honest, even when it was to tell us that...

Adoption
Shannon helped us finalize the adoption of our son. She was always very professional and on top of everything. She answered all of our questions and we had no issues whatsoever. We would use her again.

Great Adoption Attorney
Shannon was very helpful in the adoption of both our children. She and her office were very responsive, caring and professional. They exceeded our expectations.
"Shannon is a masterful mediator and an excellent attorney. I could have checked most of the categories under "how do you know this lawyer?" She is creative, professional and a real joy to work with and otherwise."
"Shannon is a skilled mediator and a great lawyer. She is creative in helping divorcing couples solve problems, and in assisting parents in crafting parenting plans that serve the children well. She is compassionate, and yet firm when she needs to be. She is effective at getting cases settled."
