About Shannon

Learn Shannon’s areas of practice.

Hello.  I am glad you have chosen to review my profile, and I hope I can help you out with whatever legal issues you may be experiencing.

I practice exclusively in the family law field, helping families resolve their conflicts in the most amicable and financially responsible way possible.  I am a trained and highly experienced Collaborative Family Lawyer and Mediator and handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and possession, child support, paternity, termination of parental rights and adoption, international adoption, pre- and post-marital agreements, grandparent access, and basic estate planning.

Mediation is a great alternative where parties not needing full attorney representation can resolve their conflicts with a trained, neutral professional who can help them define their ultimate goals and reach the best possible outcome necessary to preserve healthy relationships and financial security.   Mediation also helps save money in that the parties can come in, settle their case with me, and then retain settlement oriented counsel to draft their legal pleadings - a win/win for everyone!

There is nothing more harmful to a family than the horrible conflict of courtroom battles. Collaborative law has developed as a marvelous conflict resolution avenue that allows husbands and wives, parents and children, grandparents, and other family members to reach resolution of their issues in an amicable and effective manner.

I am a single mother of two girls who are now 25 and 22 years of age working in Los Angeles and going to college in Colorado respectively...  poor me...  My ex and I have always maintained a strong and amicable working relationship that has helped us raise these kids in the best manner possible for divorced parents.  This experience helps me help my clients realize what really matters.

Shannon is simply the best family lawyer
I would highly recommend Ms. Lynch. I have worked with Ms. Shannon Lynch on custody, adoption and name change cases. She is very knowledgeable, very professional and very compassionate. Ms. Lynch is a great listener and allows time for proper briefing from the client during which she notes all the facts. Going back to her to continue the case after almost a year, she was able to pull out and recall all the facts that we discussed. Ms. Lynch helped our family finish so many steps that we thought were merely impossible or would take years to finish. She was always knowledgeable not only of local US laws but international ones too to help with international custody cases. Ms. Lynch will always be our family lawyer.

AWESOME Attorney, WONDERFUL Lady
Speaking with other attorneys only convinced me more that Shannon was the right choice for me. Some of the other attorneys I spoke with seemed disinterested or unable to comprehend what I felt were the most important objectives of the case against my now ex-husband. After a number of these phone calls and one personal meeting, I was more than comfortable than ever with my decision to hire Shannon. Some people may call it woman’s intuition, but I believe God led me to Shannon. The divorce took three grueling years. Even though I wanted it to end desperately, my child’s safety was my main concern. I survived nearly two decades of domestic violence. In the midst of the divorce, my former in-laws sued me to obtain visitation rights claiming I was an unfit parent. Their son was disinterested in family life, and they chose to attack me because they could not control him. Their attorney was the exact opposite of Shannon. She was unprofessional, crude, and disrespectful to me, Shannon, and the judge. This was one of the most frightening experiences of my life – having to defend myself against lies. With Shannon’s guidance, the truth, and the support of my family that battle was won. After some time passed, the attorney that represented my former in-laws began to represent my ex-husband. Trial date after trial date was postponed, and my ex-husband did not seem to be cooperating with his own attorney. Throughout this time, Shannon dealt with the unorthodox methods of the opposing attorney and the delays with professionalism and dignity. Shannon is honest and forthright. She did not sugarcoat the difficulty of the battle. She is highly intelligent and proficient in family law. Given the length and complications during the process, I think her fees were very fair. Safety and security for my child’s future was my goal, and Shannon got us there. The divorce is now final, and my ex-husband’s parental rights were terminated. Shannon is an incredible professional. In a very real sense, Shannon was a guardian angel for me and my child. I highly recommend Shannon Lynch as a family law attorney. You are one of a kind, Shannon Blessings on you

Estate Planning Made Easy...
This is my second time to have all my Estate Planning Documents created by Shannon. She is professional, respects my time and most of all, easy to work with. I highly recommend Shannon to family, friends, co-workers and clients. Estate Planning is something that is easy to put off. But I recently had loved one that lost her spouse. He never found the time to make Estate Planning a priority and I've watched her suffer the consequences. My wife knows she is taken care of, even if anything should happen to me. Happy Wife...Happy Life.

Awesome Attorney!!!
I worked with Shannon to handle my divorce in 2015. I found Shannon to be easy and pleasant to work with, extremely knowledgeable and always focused on finding the best solutions to problems. She is a great communicator; I always knew where I stood, and never felt in the dark about what was going on. It was truly a blessing to have Shannon as my attorney during this painful time in my life, and I'd recommend her to others without hesitation.

Personable
I'm thankful for a lawyer that can explain what's happening in the court and doesn't see the details as unimportant to share with the client. Shannon brought both our adoptions cases before the court. The second adoption Shannon was kindly attentive to our toddler and made the court an experience for her as well. I see that as way above and beyond. I'm so thankful for a lawyer who is personable and kind.

Sped the process along!!
My divorce proceedings were at a standstill, due to some documentation confusion. Once Shannon was involved, I had everything submitted within days, and everything moved quickly after that! She was knowledgable and patient, and I highly recommend her.

Contract Negotiations
Shannon Lynch is an excellent lawyer. She is detailed, professional, fair, timely in her response time, and acted with my best interest in mind. Shannon Lynch was timely in responding to my email and phone messages. Shannon Lynch worked in a fashion that expedited my needs as a client, and she kept me from making decisions that may have been detrimental to my long-term well being. I would highly recommend Shannon Lynch as a lawyer when legal representation is needed!

We won a case that was deemed unwinnable due to Shannon!
We met Shannon through a referral from our neighbor. From the moment we spoke on the phone she put us at ease- not that we would win, but that she knew what we were up against and how to proceed to position ourselves as positively as possible. She was always honest, even when it was to tell us that we were fighting an uphill battle. She never stopped trying- thinking of every possible way to look at the case. Her communication with us was wonderful- from in person, to calls and texts. She was always available when we needed her and some times it was just to have her restate the obvious or to again, remind us of our next steps. She trusted our decisions and made sure we were educated on what could happen if we made a particular decision. In the end, our adoption moved forward. Shannon is one of those attorneys that you hope to find- one that cares more about her clients and the end result than all the sneaky tactics and ways to charge additional fees. She has amazing integrity and empathy! She is an expert at adoption law and she knows all of her "competition" as well which is extremely helpful. We would recommend Shannon to anyone!!!!!

Shannon and our adoption
Shannon was a superstar. She gave us accurate predictions of the time involved to obtain a Texas Decree affirming our daughter's adoption from China. She responded quickly to our requests and clearly knows her stuff. She also knows her way around the courts and the judges and our hearing before the judge could not have gone better. HIGHLY recommend her to anyone reading this.
