Awesome Attorney in Dallas!

I highly recommend Ms.Nancy Ohan to anyone that is looking for a lawyer. We have received several letters from attorneys who wanted to represent me in my case (Class A Misdemeanor, Family Assault), I checked Ms.Ohan's mailer and it looked promising of all and I was most impressed with her track reco...rd and strategic approach to winning. The next morning I was at her office to meet and talk, I immediately trusted her from my first visit and hired her. I was worried about my immigration status as I am a Non-Immigrant and in the process of getting my GC, the immigration status has been a problem for people with convictions and the US Immigration law requires USCIS to prevent convicts from immigration benefits. I spoke to couple of lawyers before talking to Nancy, but none got straight to the point. We are very pleased with her work, She started on my case early this year and she just got my case DISMISSED (which was much needed for my immigration). She told us it will take about 6 months and she was going to get it dismissed, she just did that. I was charged with family assault case against my wife and Ms. Ohan understood our situation and we received a great representation. She is all about the outcome of the case and not about money. I never had to go to the court at least once. She was always patient with our questions and VERY prompt in responding. Her knowledge was outstanding and the whole process was handled professionally and timely. I will forever be grateful to her for handling my case. In addition, the fees was very reasonable. Thank you so much Nancy for all your help!!

I could not have had a better experience.... in spite of bad circumstances

I was pulled over for suspicion of DUI in the Fall of 2010. Essentially, I had left a nightclub in the area, and was in a fast food parking lot chatting with my friend in my car, and turned off my lights, (with the engine running), while we talked. I pulled out to leave and forgot to turn my lights ...back on. A DPD officer was blocking my side of the street so I approached the officer to ask if I could drive around his car; at which point he made the comment that I was "extremely intoxicated" and told me to pull over and park. I complied with a sobriety test and passed with no issue. Then he did the Nystagmus Gaze (light in the eyes) test; and he said that I failed that portion. I requested a breath test and he refused. He placed me in handcuffs, had my car towed, and took me to jail. I spent majority of Thanksgiving Day in Dallas jail before being able to be bailed out. When I contacted Ms. Ohan, I knew that my story, (I wasn't intoxicated), seemed far-fetched, however she gave me the benefit of the doubt. Once she saw the video of me in holding that she requested from the jail; walking around to specific markers in stilettos, (with no issue/hesitation), speaking to the officer and answering questions as per normal, she suggested that we go to trial; and I agreed. *Note-- the officer conducted the sobriety test out of the view of his squad car; so there was no video of me on the scene. My case continued to be postponed and dragged out for two years; no fault of Ms. Ohan whatsoever. She continued to keep me updated on everything that was going on and always took the time to answer any questions that I had. Right before we were to go to court, the prosecutor advised Ms. Ohan that they would be requesting a postponement. The day at court, the prosecutor requested said postponement and the judge refused. Ms. Ohan received a call from the court to show up within an hour and she immediately left her office to represent me. I was coincidentally at home from work that day, and received a call from Ms. Ohan saying that my case had been dismissed. I cried tears of joy. After 2 years, legal fees, a suspended license, loss of my company car, and a measurable amount of humiliation; I FINALLY was vindicated to my family and friends. I am so incredibly appreciative of her faith in me and her hard work to clear my name, and I would absolutely recommend her to ANYONE in a similar situation.

Nancy Ohan by far is the BEST lawyer out there. When I first received her letter in the mail, her letter alone made me hire her. Nancy will never leave you in the dark, she always be there to explain everything in detail to you. This woman is a go getter and she makes sure that her time is basical...ly dedicated to your case because she always goes up and over in her job. I have dealt with lawyers before but if I knew about Nancy Ohan back then, trust me, I would've hired her a long time ago. If anybody is in serious need of a Great lawyer, not just a lawyer but a GREAT Lawyer. Trust me, Nancy Elizabeth Ohan is for you! She got my case dismissed, not to mention since it was a wrongful charge, she made sure that I was not guilty. When you meet this Attorney in her office she is very dear and warming but when you see her in court forget about it, she is a hard core attorney that gets down to business!

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
