Grateful!!

I don't known where to start. I just feel so grateful and blessed because I chose the right lawyer for my case. when I first met ms.ohan I was an absolute mess, an emotional one that is. I had gotten in trouble and sent to jail that almost led to a family violence misdemeanor. I had never gotten in t...rouble with the law so quite honestly I was terrified but ms.ohan put me at ease shortly after leaving her office and assured me she would do everything in her power to take care of the siutation. What I will tell you is, she is very upfront and doesn't BS at all which I really really appreciate. Throughout the entire seven months I was so numb, I didn't know what to really ask or say but she completely took over and needless to say my case was DISMISSED!! Best feeling in the world.Definitely learned my lesson. Thankyou so much ms.ohan! You were heaven sent, I have non doubt I was led to chose you by my angels.I Wish you the absolute best.

NANCY IS THE TRUTH HIGHER HER

I had a family violence case that was a complete misunderstanding between my girlfriend and I. Her. being caucassian and me being black in this case type i felt as if I would be judged harshly and was already at a loss. After meeting with several previous shark/snake type lawyers who charged a large ...fee just for consultation. I was finally referred to Nancy, my significant other and I met with Nancy and before 10 minutes had passed unlike other law lawyers I had previously consulted with she actually to a very genuine interest even offering relationship advice for how to be better in the future and to mention gave us a more than fair fee for her services. I literally did nothing and my case was dismissed. NANCY IS YOUR BEST OPTION AT FREEDOM AND ACTUALLY CARES DESPITE HOW BUSY SHE IS. THANK YOU FOR SAVING YEARS OF MY LIFE.

Read! POCKETING PLEA DEALS, NOT JUSTICE!

Please take a moment to read my review and consider I'm writing it almost six years after Nancy Elizabeth Ohan represented me. Hopefully my experience will make anyone who reads this to have heavy feet and a tugging conscious when thinking of setting up a consultation appointment with her or think of... retaining her black-hearted services. I was fresh in my early twenties and had an evening I will forever regret. I had an accident which involved a DWI. The shame of my case came from every individual involved, notably the police and Nancy. To begin, Nancy disclosed the police report to me which included numerous fallacies. The police wrote I haven drinking in a bar that night and was belligerent and drunk. I told Nancy the report was a flat out lie. I had ONE margarita all night the late Cyclone Anaya's on Oaklawn Avenue. After the accident I drove a block back to the police station, exited the vehicle and turned myself in. Still! Nancy, thought the charge of Failure to Stop and Render Aide was permissible, a please deal suitable to her conscious and pockets. Even though I had an accident at a stop sign and drove ONE BLOCK back to the police station? Folks, she plays directly into the awful plea deal system this country has established. She was very dismissive and simply advised there was nothing she could do, however this is a mere joke to what came next. That evening my then partner and I had an argument that escalated at his residence in University Park. I told Nancy we were upstairs in the master bedroom and were shouting at one another. I was in the hall and my partner was just beyond the threshold of the door in the master bedroom. I slammed the door and it literally bumped his elbow. This is the truth, not a guilty man's cry for help. My partner even tried to get the police and DA to drop the bogus claims of Family Violence to no avail. The worst part was I showed up to court NOT KNOWING that Nancy would have me signing a PLEA DEAL with the DA that linked my DWI to a Family Violence case. I being a 22 year old man with a whole life ahead told her I was not in agreeence with the terms and that I didn't feel comfortable accepting a plea deal forever labeling me as a Family Violence offender with assault! She was again her dismissive and hurried self as she pushed me to accept it and made me feel it was my only option. Not to mention all the classes and alcohol courses I was required to do. This is the help the courts thought I so needed, in addtion to a lifetime label Nancy so happily dolled out. That was great, however Nancy without any care of concern dealt me out the worst plea deal you could ever imagine. The worst part is it was all a lie, my partner was never assaulted, a door was slammed. No I didn't hurt him or deserve a Family Violence charge that can never been expunged or receive e a notice of non disclosure. If you read my review and think I'm just writing as some ashamed victim, I'm not. I just know with every fiber of my being that the plea deal Nancy shoved in my face is shameful abuse of the justice system. If you do anything after reading my review do yourself one favor and watch the documentary "13th" on Netflix hearald as an "unflinching documentary" by the New York Times. From my personal experience Nancy is a perfect example of legal counsel and the DA abusing our legal system to delve out the grimiest and most shoddy plea deals. Think STRONGLY when choosing your attorney...it's your life.

I agree that you should put a lot of thought into the lawyer you choose because it is your life. However, I do not agree with any other part of this review. In the twenty two years I have practiced law, I have never been motivated by money. I expect to get paid, yes, but my fees are incredibly reasonable, and I more than earn every single cent that I charge. I truly believe that people without a lot of money deserve excellent representation. I believe I provide excellent representation as an attorney and a human being which is apparent from my number of good reviews, the clients that continue to keep in contact with me even after their cases are closed, and the number of invitations and announcements I receive from clients when they graduate, have a baby, etc. With respect to this review, I can count on one hand the number of family violence cases I have resolved through plea bargains in the last ten years. I do not resolve cases with a plea bargain unless it is my client's choice to do so. Period. I take the "counselor" part of "attorney and counselor" seriously. I believe this distinguishes me from a lot of lawyers. I actually care and discuss not only the case, but whatever personal problems might be affecting my clients. This is why this review baffles me which is putting it lightly. I was obviously not successful in getting this person's cases dismissed. However, that does not mean that I didn't try or put everything I had into their representation and helping them sort through their personal issues. Blaming someone else for one's own problems is the best way to deflect any personal responsibility. The hardest thing a person can do is hold a mirror up to themselves and hold themselves accountable for what is going on in their life. I am truly sorry that six years after the fact this person is in such a bad mental place that they needed someone to blame and made me their target. However, this is my life and my reputation. Just as I fight for my clients, I will most definitely fight for myself and the truth. Nancy Elizabeth Ohan

Excellent lawyer!

My adult son and I had a misunderstanding and before I knew it I was being carted off to jail with a charge of domestic violence. Days after I got home from jail I received Ms. Ohan's pre-written letter in the mail, among many other lawyers, offering to help me. After waiting a couple of weeks I fi...nally picked her letter out of all of the others and I called her. Ms. Ohan attended all of my court dates and I never even went to one of them. Then I get a call from her assistant Beatrice saying the case was dismissed! I highly recommend Ms. Ohan for your legal problems. This was the very first time I was ever in jail and the very first time I needed the help of a lawyer! I often called her assistant Beatrice whenever I was having a panic attack regarding my case and Beatrice always answered my questions with courtesy and patience! Ms. Ohan kept her word on every single part of her pre-written letter! Never once did she ever change from the promises given on that letter! I always hated the junk mail lawyers send out when someone is in trouble, but for once getting her pre-written letter after my first time jail stay was truly a Godsend!
