Back in 2007 I got a dwi I hired miss nancy and I know I did the right thing . She took care of everything . Even when the prosecutor wanted to send me to jail for 180 days for not complying w the staff that I had to do I talked to her and she stood up for me and told that lady no you re not going t...o send him to jail the judge was on vacation .so we had to see a different judge.and at the end I waked free man out of the court that day .I had comply w everything but the da didn't have all my papers but nancy had copies of everything . She was in charge .I would hire nancy in a hart beet if I ever need her. Thank you nancy.

Poor Service

Nancy was hired to help get my case settled. She charged to negotiate one sentence and came back with more time. No paperwork or communication. Avoided my phone calls, became irrated when asked why she said one thing to get hired and now telling me this is all the D.A. would do. Worst legal service... ever...

Replied last April 22, 2020

I was hired by Denise Williams to represent her son--not her--on a human trafficking probation violation case. The basis for the violation was that he had failed to report for over six months and had left Dallas county among other things. The minimum for his case was two and the max was twenty years in prison. I told Ms. Williams I would try for the two years, but that the DA would want more time and we would end up somewhere in the middle. Her son ended up receiving three years in prison for the violation. He pled on February 20, 2020. I have never in twenty five years of being an attorney promised or taken a fee for a specific sentence. I pride myself on being honest and straightforward. Ms. Williams reached out to me for her son's case because she appreciated the work I had done on another case. It's interesting that at the time of her son's plea, the judge remarked about what a good deal three years was. I thought I did a good job. Ms. Williams obviously did not a month and a half later. She called me several times. These conversations would erupt into her screaming at me. She could not understand why I was not able to get the minimum and why her son was not out. It was impossible to explain or convey anything to her because she would just start screaming when I said something she didn't like. I'm not responsible for the facts of her son's case. Unfortunately, courts and DA's are not typically willing to do the minimum when someone absconds from probation, especially on such a serious case. It is almost equal to committing a new crime. The bottom line is that I did not and would never promise a specific sentence. The only thing I can surmise is that Ms. Williams is fearful for her son being in custody during the COVID-19 outbreak and that is erupting into anger against me. Her fears, while entirely valid, do not justify making me a target. I will not be a punching bag or tolerate disrespect from anyone. I work incredibly hard, do a great job for my clients, charge reasonable fees, and don't deserve that kind of treatment. My dedication to my clients is and has been unquestionable throughout the twenty-five years I have been practicing law. Ms. Williams' review is completely without merit.

Life changed and beyond thankful - Case Dismissed

Words cannot begin to explain how thankful and pleased I am with Nancy and for all the hard work she put into getting my case dismissed. She truly was heaven sent! Never in million years could I have imagined that my DWI 2 case would run so smoothly and ultimately be thrown out. Nancy not only kno...ws the law, she’s passionate about it and truly cares for her client’s wellbeing. I recall my first meeting with her, she diligently listened and took note of everything I had to say without judging me. Because this was my second DWI, my first being nearly a decade ago, I felt so ashamed of the situation I had once again found myself in. Nancy genuinely expressed concern for me as a person. She went as far as asking me if I needed assistance in locating an AA or support group. She then made a pact with me, that she would do everything in her power to help me but that I also had to show her that I was willing to learn from this and make a change in my life. Upon retaining her she quickly began to gather details from the DA’s office and gave me constant updates which really went a long way in calming my nerves (I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown). When she received the video from DPD she called me in and we watched it together. Without going into detail, she almost immediately concluded that the officer had no justified reason for pulling me over. She suggested that we file a “Motion to Suppress” based on facts shown in the officer's car/body cam footage. This was in late August 2018. The months began to roll by and Nancy attended my court dates and would email or call me with updates almost immediately afterward (understandably sometimes a day later). At one point the interlock device in my vehicle failed due to battery issues and upon informing her of the potential problem it could cause with my pre-trail officer, Nancy was ready to spring into action. Fortunately, it wasn’t necessary, but once again knowing I had someone in my corner went a very long way. Finally, in January, Nancy informed me that she had met with the DA’s office and that they did not agree that the stop was unjustified. She again reassured me that she had a strong argument based on the facts seen in the video and would proceed with filing with motion. February - D-DAY Nancy was nothing less than incredible. She was confident, knowledgeable, and firm with her argument and although the arresting officer was present as a state witness, Nancy was completely unshaken (TOTAL BEAST MODE). After about 45 minutes the judge said the sweetest sounding two words I’ve ever heard “Motion sustained”. My case was pretty much dismissed. In the hallway, Nancy once again reminded me that this was a “Gift” and that she didn’t to ever see me in that situation again. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Nancy. May God Bless you always. Ps: I am now going on almost 7 months sober, thanks be to God, my family, friends, and Nancy’s push.

I Highly Recommend Nancy Ohan !

After an unfortunate incident, I was arrested and charged with a crime that could have resulted in me having a criminal record, or worse, me doing time in jail. My entire life revolved around my being vindicated, and not losing my career. I was NOT looking for just any lawyer that could 'adequately...' give me a passable legal defense! I needed to do my research and find an accomplished legal mind with the sort of talent, born from the wisdom that comes only from varied experiences, learning all the 'ins-and-outs' of a less than perfect system. After having visited several, I received a mailer from Ms. Nancy Ohan, and followed up with an appointment to interview her. What I found in Ms. Ohan was the opposite of what every other one had been. She allowed me all the time I needed to convey the 'context' of the event that led to my arrest. She asked questions when I was done and I could tell that her shrewd mind was already at work building my best defense. She took good notes, whereas others merely looked at me and only half-way listened. I needed one to listen like that - really LISTEN. I found her exceedingly capable and was impressed with her compassion and integrity. In dealing with the prosecutor's office, she had a step-by-step plan to bring resolution to my case, perhaps without needing to go to trial. She fully prepared for trial, in case it came to that. A prepared defense-attorney is what prosecutors fear most, because they hate to lose. If your attorney requirements can be explained with words such as "adequate, satisfactory, or tolerable", then by all means hire the first one you find, and you better like bologna sandwiches three times a day. However, if you want a classy, bright experienced attorney who will go the full distance for your defense, and do it for a fee that is more than reasonable, please believe me when I say Nancy Ohan is one which prosecutors respect, and one who they would prefer Not going up against in court.

I owe my entire life to this amazing lawyer !

Being a teenager I procrastinated until the last minute to find a lawyer. I met with several and spoke with several on the phone all very uncertain about the service they could provide but the moment I called Nancy I knew she was the one. The moment she picked up the phone she could hear the panic i...n my voice and helped calm me down and reassured me that I'd be okay. I had been charged with 3 felony possessions of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor. At this point in my life I was all but certain that this was the end for me. Nancy refused to let me wallow in my own self pity. With in days of hiring this amazing women we had an entire file filled with information completely prepared for my defense and she was ready to take on my case. I hadn't slept as sound as I did that night in months. She gave me peace of mind. I knew that the best possible outcome for my situation would only be possible with her help. Months passed court date after court date and one day she called me and gave me the news I had been praying to god for. She told me that my case was going to be dismissed the day after my birthday. As I cried she congratulated me. I highly recommend Nancy to anyone who needs any legal services.
