Take money and didn’t do anything

Your better off paying money to taxes instead!!! Had multiple different legal aids at least 6 ask me for same paperwork over and over, could never talk to anyone. Paid 15 thousand in federal did nothing to stop it. Told me that the lien on my wife’s house wouldn’t hold up but did, now they want to cl...ose my case because it’s been 3 years and they are waiting to clear there books!

We're truly sorry to hear about your experience and frustration. We strive to provide clear communication and efficient resolution for all our clients Upon reviewing your concerns, it appears that there may have been misunderstandings regarding the documentation process and communication channels outlined in our Master Service Agreement. We understand the importance of accurate and updated documentation, as well as timely communication, in resolving tax-related matters effectively. Regarding the statements about “clearing our books”, please be assured that our priority is to work collaboratively with our clients to reach a resolution. As for the issues regarding your federal taxes and the lien on your wife's house, we understand the gravity of these matters and the impact they have on your financial well-being. Please know we want to assist you every step of the way, and we're dedicated to finding a solution that meets your needs. If you would like to discuss your case further or have any additional concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. We value your feedback and the opportunity to make things right.

Joke

What you’ve put my husband & I through this whole time has been a joke but you got your money. Now case closed & we are still in the same boat. I will not recommend this company to anyone. The sad part is I was recommended by a church member, how sad..

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

If I could give NEGATIVE stars, I would. Here are the guarantees when hiring Travis Watkins Tax...Bad legal advice, high employee turn over, nothing getting done, never speaking to an actual attorney, everything they say won't happen, WILL happen and in the end, YOU will still be stuck dealing with ...the IRS. HIRE SOMEONE ELSE OR DO IT YOURSELF. I hired them to help me abate penalties and interest as I had made significant payments towards my back liabilities owed. They did not do this, instead suggested an Offer in Compromise would be the best way to go. They never considered the payments made even though they were provided proof of payment. After months of no contact, I reached out to check status. They had not done anything so my wife posted a very honest review to which I received an immediate response from a gentleman named Maverick, who identified himself as the office manager. He essentially black mailed us into removing the negative reviews or they were going to cease all work and he promised they were close to a resolution. THIS WAS COMPLETELY FALSE. After several more months, an offer was submitted and ultimately rejected by the IRS. They filed a lien for the full amount owed, excluding payments made. I have not heard from Travis Watkins Tax until receiving a letter dated January 30, 2024 congratulating me on my installment agreement and they were closing my file. They not only spelled my name wrong in the letter but they did not play a part in setting up the installment agreement. I contacted the IRS and sat on hold for nearly 4 hours to set it up while I work to actually abate my penalties and interest. I hired them in September of 2021 and I am no closer to settling this issue than I was then. Bottom line....SAVE YOUR MONEY. PAY IT TO THE IRS INSTEAD. I encourage anyone in a similar situation to file a complaint with the Oklahoma Bar Association. I certainly will be. https://www.okbar.org/gc/complaint/

Sean, Thank you for reaching out. Our apologies for the misspelling of the name. A review of your case shows the original contracted services to be penalty abatement; however, the person who reviewed the case in 2021 thought they might be able to save you money by filing an offer in compromise (OIC). Our firm did put together an OIC, which you signed, and we then filed on your behalf. When it was disapproved, we then appealed in an attempt to save, tax, penalties and interest (going above and beyond the contracted services). Our representatives (attorneys, enrolled agents, and support staff) communicated with you throughout the OIC process including the appeal process. Upon learning the OIC was not successful, an installment agreement was established. We then prepared a penalty abatement request and mailed it to you for your signature. The penalty abatement form was not returned signed; therefore, we could not file it with the IRS. After waiting 30 days for the signed form we did close the case. We would be happy to file the penalty abatement form for you, but we would need the requested form signed and returned to us. If you would like for us to do so, please contact the office at 405.607.1192 and we can get this issue resolved to your satisfaction.

PISSED OFF CUSTOMER

RUN!!!! THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEIR HOTSHOT SALESMAN, MAVERICK, EITHER!!!! HE LIES JUST TO GET YOUR MONEY. I WAS PROMISED THAT MY TAX DEBT WOULD BE REDUCED AFTER LOOKING AT MY BOOKS AND TAX HISTORY......WRONG!!!! TRAVIS WATKINS LEFT ME WITH $217,000 OWED!!! WTF?? THIS IS WORSE ...THAN WHEN I STARTED WITH THEM 2 YEARS AGO. IN THOSE 2 YEARS THEY ONLY LOGGED INTO MY BANK ACCOUNTS TWICE TO UPDATE MY BOOKKEEPING....AFTER I CALLED AND COMPLAINED OVER AND OVER. OH! AND GOOD LUCK GETTING ANYONE WITH ANY INTELLIGENCE TO ANSWER THE PHONE!! THEY LIKE TO PLAY THE LEAVE A VOICEMAIL AND WE WILL NEVER CALL YOU BACK GAME. THIS WAS THE WORST BUSINESS EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN 23 YEARS OF BEING IN BUSINESS. THESE PEOPLE CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

T. Watkins knows your desperate

Our story is the about the same as everyone else’s here. Got a letter from the IRS about filing a lien on our property. Called Travis Watkins the next day. Paid 4,000.00….Filled out paper work. Then you wait and wait. Understanding that the IRS takes forever and thats the excuse T. Watkins tea...m gives IF you ever get ahold of them. Everyone who works there is lost in space. Literally, no one knows Jack $hit. After a year NOTHING has been done. We ended up paying our taxes off and told T. Watkins we no longer need their services and we were charged 1,400.00. Do not hire them! So we paid 4,000 just to have T. Watkins stop the irs from sending letters and that’s t!!!!!!! Hopefully we will get the 1,400 they charged!

"I endorse this lawyer. Travis Watkins is, in my opinion, the finest tax attorney in the State of Oklahoma. I have witnessed this not only as a fellow attorney, but as a client of his law office. I retained Travis Watkins to handle a very serious IRS tax arrearage in 2015 after having a poor experience with a previously retained tax attorney. Travis and his team of attorneys worked tirelessly on my case and treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect from start to finish. In the end, Travis succeeded in securing for me an accepted Offer in Compromise that not only saved me over $200,000, but also saved my career and my family."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
