Whitney M. Matney attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, Arkansas. During law school, she served on the Board of Advocates, was a member of the W.B. Putman Inn of Courts, won first place in the Closing Argument Competition, and received the "Best Oralist" award for her appellate brief argument. Whitney clerked for The Honorable Judge John Scott in Benton County, Arkansas, where she developed a passion for client advocacy and litigation. This passion remains with her today. She is willing to tackle any legal challenge for any client, at any time.
Whitney gained experience clerking in the areas of civil litigation, domestic relations, personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. Whitney also has experience with criminal defense. She obtained her Rule XV Student Attorney Certification during her last semester of law school, and represented clients in their appeals from their capital murder cases. Her work there gave her valuable insight into the fact that Justice should be afforded to all persons, no matter the charges against them.
Whitney has experience in divorce, child custody disputes, insurance claims, criminal defense, and breach of contract cases. Whitney is a certified civil mediator and ad litem. While her experience is in these areas, she welcomes the opportunity to guide clients through all walks of legal issues.

I hired Whitney to help with a custody case, and I’m incredibly grateful for her guidance and support. She explained every step of the process clearly and answered all my questions. Whitney is very compassionate and made me feel heard during a difficult time, and always responsive. Thanks to her hard...

Great attorney and great with people. She helps us through the situation and honestly made the experience better than what is was. She is the best in NWA!
Thank you! I enjoyed representing you.

I hired Whitney as lawyer/counsel. I don't feel like I was given any type of information that assisted in making the important decisions that need to be made during the divorce process. There were NO "what to look for" or "how to prepare for" pointers and I feel like Whitney was more worried about im...
I am sorry you feel this way. I can without a doubt assure you that I zealously advocated for you, leading the case to an agreed settlement that you were pleased with, until you requested that I represent you in a subsequent matter that I felt had no merit, and I declined to represent you. When you told me of the Google searches you did, I explained that the information you read didn’t apply to Arkansas law. Your ex’s attorney has never had occasion to send me work, that I am aware of, as he takes the same type of cases I do. I would love to hear the information you have as to what clients he has sent me so I can send him a thank you letter! Again, if I had done so poorly, I do not believe you would have sought my services for a second time. However, I would be happy to discuss any concerns you have about my prior representation during your divorce to help ease your mind with respect to the advice I gave you throughout that process if you are now having second thoughts. Please feel free to contact my office to speak with me at (479) 250-0941. Thank you.

I hired Whitney to be my divorce attorney. She was very responsive to my questions and helped me work through all the details during this big life change. She was professional, personable, knowledgable and reassuring. I would highly recommend her.
"I have had the opportunity to work with Whitney on a case and found her to be effective, diligent and caring in the representation of her clients. I endorse this lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer. Whitney is passionate about her clients especially when serving as a Court Appointed Attorney Ad Litem. I have used her in that capacity in several cases and believe she is knowledgeable, works hard and will look out for the best interest of her clients."
"Whitney served as attorney ad litem for one of my cases. The case was particularly complex, and she handled it with every bit of the attention and passion it required and did an awesome job. She is prompt to respond to emails and phone calls, and keeps her clients and all parties updated well on proceedings. I endorse Whitney without hesitation."
"I have personally worked with Whitney on a matter. She is effective and knowledgeable. I definitely endorse this lawyer."
