James Earl Hensley Jr.

My brother was dying from malnutrition and morphine/painkiller overuse. He was on Hospice as a means to get legalized painkillers to feed his addiction. He was near death and needed to be hospitalized immediately and receive mental health treatment. On Easter, in a panic, my mom found Jim online ...as an Arkansas attorney who took emergency cases and would answer his phone regardless of the day/time. Jim answered my mom's call on Easter morning and we setup a conference call with my family within the hour. Jim listened to our concerns, took our case that day, and immediately went to work! He took our family's affidavits, visited my brother and filed our case with the judge in short order. The order Jim submitted was well-written clearly expressed our concerns and reasons for the request. Unfortunately, the judge (who has a long history of callousness) did not see our case as an emergency and set a court date over 4 months out. Jim seriously fought hard to get the court date moved up explaining that my brother would not live that long. The judge wouldn't budge. We looked for alternative options, but could not find another solution. My brother passed away 4 weeks later. With the extra ongoing work required while he was working the case, I asked Jim about additional charges for his time beyond the initial retainer. To which he responded 'there will be no additional fees regardless of of how long it takes'. I realize the final result wasn't what we were hoping for, but that does not detract from the quality work and effort Jim put in. Over the years I have had the "opportunity" to work with various lawyers and I know a few personally. Jim was a very pleasant surprise. He's a cut from a different cloth. Straightforward, honest, and hardworking. If you need a lawyer willing to go to war on your behalf, Jim is your man. If I ever have need of an attorney in Arkansas, it will be Jim. Both Jim Hensley and his secretary Kellie Huggs answered all of my calls, texts and questions immediately concerning charges lodged against my brother and I in April 2024, which caused much grief and anxiety for the both of us and with me stressing and obsessing about the situation on a daily basis f...or several months, to the point of distraction. I applaude Kellie's fortitude when dealing with my sometimes erratic questions, but answered every one of them and allayed my fears. Mr. Hensley was awesome. He listen to me closely and gather all evidence. He was tough on me when I needed it but it made me better when court came around. I was getting sued along with another lady and day of court we found out that all charges were dropped against the other lady. Me and Mr.Hensley ...went against 3 other people and won my case fairly. Hensley had evidence tossed out simply because it wasn’t even enough to even be evidence against me. I was n contact with Hensley a lot through the whole case and we are hours apart. This was my first time being on that side needing a Lawyer and I will say that God put him in my path and if I ever need anything I will call Mr.Jim Hensley every time! I was also so happy he allowed me to make payments to him that I could afford, case is over and I still have a few months left of paying him. All around the best and I recommend him to everyone and know he’s just a down to watch good guy and he will fight for you.

Jim Hensley is absolutely the lawyer you want representing you or anyone in your family, regardless of the situation. My son got a DWI during his freshman year in college, and we all were so very concerned. Mr. Hensley counseled all of us, explained the legal situation precisely and clearly, laid out... every option available to us and what his recommended strategy would be. He met privately with our kid who came away feeling much better about his predicament and his future. Mr. Hensley and his great staff took care of everything, remained consistently available, and after some back and forth with the prosecuting attorney's office my kid ended up with an agreed settlement that had reasonable consequences (that with Jim's counseling has made my kid a better person) but will keep it off his record. Nobody wants a DWI but Mr. Hensley almost turned it into a positive, especially looking at it long term and what could have happened had we ended up with a lawyer who did not honestly and genuinely care so very much for his client. Mr. Hensley knows his craft, I cannot recommend him highly enough, regardless of how small or serious the situation might be, hire this man as your attorney!
