Well qualified and honest

The Chicago Bar Association recommended Arthur Ehrlich for a lawsuit I had initiated against a neighbor. I had specified that the attorney have experience litigating. Upon contacting Mr. Ehrlich he indicated that while he was primarily an employment/labor attorney after presenting him with the detail...s of my case he said he thought he could handle it. I agreed to hire him as our attorney of record after my wife and I met with him at his office. I personally have several attorneys in my family and worked as a paralegal one summer for my brother in NYC so I'm fairly familiar with different attorneys and their personalities. What one of the negative reviews I read about Mr. Ehrlich here criticized basically for not wanting to waste time discussing irrelevant details. While I can understand the unhappy client's wanting to vent and tell her story. I on the other hand appreciated Mr. Ehrlich not wanting to spend the time I was paying for matters irrelevant to the case. If someone thinks telling a professional their story will make them feel better I'd suggest a psychiatrist would be a better choice than a lawyer. Mr. Ehrlich might be a bit brusque and cut you off when you stray off topic. He'd probably make some of his more tender clients happier if he had read Dale Carnegie's 'How to Make Friends and Influence People', but then he'd have to charge more. I found Mr. Ehrlich's legal skills and knowledge top-notch. That's what I was paying him for, not his personality. While we were prepared to go to trial I never expected Mr. Ehrlich to absorb the costs of a trial if a settlement couldn't be reached as one of Mr. Ehrlich's contingency clients apparently did after reading their review here. I did find out from my experience in court that suing someone is very expensive win or lose regardless of who your attorney is. In conclusion, I would use Mr. Ehrlich as my attorney again if the occasion ever arises again, which I hope doesn't.

Dignified and Professional

Attorney Ehrlich is a very patient, competent, compassionate and knowledgeable attorney. He will take his time and listen to you, respect what you have to say, and do his job diligently to obtain the best outcome possible within the law for his client. He will work patiently with you, makes sure he t...akes his time and explains to you thoroughly the processes in which you're either going through or will go through within the frame of your case. He is a very thorough and a tentative attorney who will represent you to the best of his ability, his firm and staff are very kind respectful individuals. I have never had anything but pleasure when dealing with the Goldman and Ehrlich firm. Attorney Ehrlich is willing to take on the big firms without a problem, he's also not afraid of the commercial Giants. He will definitely work with you on your attorney fees, for he understands cases are an unfortunate and unforseen cost for some. But that doesn't stop him, he's not in it for the money. I believe he wants to help people and do what's right. He's gone up and Beyond for me in my case representing me to the fullest from the beginning throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone in need of an attorney within his scope of law.

RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISMISSIVE

If you're looking to speak to someone without being interrupted in mid speech as well as being treated with respect, don't waste your time. I was wrongfully terminated and discriminated against because of a workplace illness. My employer refused to provide my doctor with the necessary documentation... so I could return to work. They choose to terminate me instead. Not only did he not ask one question about the facts of the case, he started making judgements about the outcome with NO information. When I tried to explain that my case was unique, I have undisputable proof and many other people have died and are still being affected by the environmental issue in the building were I was employed, he just hung up. Initially I thought the call dropped but when I called right back he refused to answer. A mature and professional response would be, "unfortunately I will not be able to represent you in this case". Again, look elsewhere if you seek an attorney that cares about clients and the loss of life.

I am sorry that this client had a bad experience in our initial phone conversation. First, I did not hang up on this client. The conversation came to end after i asked questions to obtain the most relevant facts for his case, and it was clear that I did not see a viable claim. I fully understand that this client felt that this was a great case. I tried to explain why i felt this was not a viable claim. Understandably, this was hard to accept since the client was 100% certain that this was a very strong case and could not understand why i did not agree, despite my attempts to explain all of this a few times. When the client kept repeating the same facts over and over, i had to repeat my opinion about his case. There are only certain facts that are relevant to a lawsuit, but this client felt it was important to tell me numerous details that were not legally relevant to a potential claim. I hope the client found an attorney who took the case and would be happy to be proven wrong should the client prevail

Dismissal

Called and spoke with Mr Ehrlich about my case and he did not show any interest in my case. asked me how much I would be suing for and said that was not enough money for him to deal with it. Unprofessional but to the point that it was only about how much money he could make.

I am sorry that this person felt this way from our phone call. The point i was trying to make to him, however, was not the amount of money I would make, but it may not be cost effective for him to retain us. We typically charge a retainer fee and there would be court costs. I wanted him to understand that these fees and costs would eat significantly into any recovery he might get. I did not want the client to travel downtown, incur fees for the trip, only to learn that it did not make economic sense for him to hire me. This was why i asked for an approximation of his damages and explained the fees i would have to charge at a minimum to take his case.
