My Heart-felt Gratitude.

I am very very grateful to Scott, Linda and to his Law Firm for all the time and assistance they gave me during this process of immigration and naturalization. First, by applying and acquiring my R-1 Visa, my Permanent Residence and then, my Naturalization as a citizen of the United States. I felt ve...ry confident all along thanks to their professional work, for being present with me in paper and in person at every moment. The Interview day for my Naturalization and the day of the Oath Ceremony will always be very memorable to me. A special ‘Thank You’ to Scott for coming to the Interview and for being there with me during my test with the USCIS official, a very crucial moment. It was a day full of emotions, nervousness, but I made it. Becoming a US citizen for me is and will always be a very significant event in my life, not only for myself and those who depend on me, but especially because of the up-coming federal elections of this year. I feel deeply obliged to vote and I will do it conscientiously. I honestly do not find sufficient words to thank both of you enough for all the hard work, always very professional, on time, patient and effective. I simply cannot think of any other attorney better than Scott D. Pollock and Associates. From the bottom of my heart! May God bless you always!

Excellent job on immigration case

For 10 years Mr. Pollock and his crew ran a complicated case of asylum, HB1, Permanent residence, etc. etc. Case had a positive outcome a few weeks ago, where me and my family had big win. He and his crew are trustworthy and reliable, they were there on every phone call and every interview we had ...with USCIS. Thanks a lot.

Mr. Pollock was and is a superb immigration lawyer. He was on top of everything that we needed. I knew I did not have to worry about anything. I was confident that everything was going to be done right and on time. I truly recommend him to anyone!

Vladimir Curcic

I had a consultation with Christina Murdoch, regarding my visa, and changing my status from F-1 to whichever will work. First of all, they made me pay for consultation in advance. Second, miss Christina was late 35 min, I was scheduled at 3pm she showed up at 3:35 pm, which put me in unconfident s...ituation since I left work earlier and drove from Countryside to downtown. Third, I heard from miss Christina nothing but what I read on google. Her willingness to help me was equal to 0 (ZERO) and she advised me to go back home and find a multinational company which would sponsor my H1B visa. Really!?! Fourth, they did not validate my parking, so I had to pay an extra $40. Also, miss Christina told me if they were to work on my case they would ask for $5000 upfront, and that would not be final amount of charges?! What case when you did not tell me what to do but to go back home. As a friend referred them to me I really expected they would have to say something helpful, but seems like I spent time and money for NOTHING.

I have investigated this situation and also spoken with our attorney Christina Murdoch so that I can understand and address the complaints. All attorneys at SDP&A are experienced, dedicated, and well-regarded in the immigration field. Each one strives to analyze each situation and identify the client's needs. We try to provide a range of available options based on the specific situation and goals of the client, and provide our best advice, simply but comprehensively, on how to achieve those goals. On rare occasions there are misunderstandings. We disagree on what was the actual advice given in this consultation. As for Mr. Curcic's points about tardiness and costs associated with an in person consultation, everyone arriving to SDP&A for the first time is first asked to complete a consultation questionnaire. The attorney reviews the questionnaire to determine the client’s immigration history, issues and concerns, and identify potential options and case strategies. This may take some time before the client is actually brought in to meet with the attorney. Generally in person consultations take an hour or more to allow sufficient time to explore and explain different available options and advise the client on case issues, obstacles, and risks. Parking in downtown Chicago is expensive; we do not have an arrangement to validate parking. Our office is centrally located and near several bus lines, CTA and Metra stations. We usually e-mail our questionnaires to clients when they schedule the appointment. Persons who complete and return the questionnaire before the consultation can be seen sooner. Sometimes emergencies can delay the start of a consultation, but we try and communicate this if a consultation will be significantly delayed. We respect our clients’ time. We can also do a consultation by telephone, Skype, FaceTime, or other electronic means. These can also save time and expense. But we prefer an in-person consultation for better information sharing that can help the prospective client decide whether to retain our services. We are sorry that Mr. Curcic was dissatisfied with Ms. Murdoch’s consultation, but we appreciate his raising these concerns and we will continue to do our very best for our clients who entrust their important immigration cases to us.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
