Biography
Born and raised on Chicago’s Northwest Side, Michael Gruszeczki graduated from Fenwick High School before earning a finance degree at Loyola University Chicago. He then excelled at DePaul University College of Law—making the Dean’s List and graduating among the top of his class in 2007—while clerking for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and two civil-litigation firms. As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Mike prosecuted thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases—ranging from controlled-substance and gun offenses to violent crimes and white-collar matters—and presided over hundreds of family-law hearings. In private practice as co-founder of Gruszeczki & Smith Law, LLP, he represents clients in criminal defense, DUI, traffic violations, and license-reinstatement proceedings. Beyond criminal law, Mike leverages his trial experience in personal injury, divorce and custody disputes, orders of protection, and real-estate transactions. Known for his courtroom tenacity and respect among judges and prosecutors, he is committed to guiding clients through every stage of their case to secure outstanding outcomes.

Had a great experience
