Very disappointing, waste of money, no results

This attorney was all about helping me go after a my last employer who terminated me after I reported an incident of sexual assault. He claimed we had a really good case of wrongful termination (retaliation) and that we had a good chance of getting some type of settlement. I paid him a retainer whic...h he really milked by spending lots of time reading my case over and over and asking me lots of questions to "make sure he understood" the case. The only thing he actually did was send a demand letter to the employer, which was completely ineffective because they basically laughed at his work and said they weren't sending a dime. Then Bob ambitiously told me over the phone that his next steps would be to file a complaint with the EEOC, to call the employer's lawyer to inform them of this, and to notify the employer's lawyer that we would be requesting subpoenas of all other sexual assault cases and filed EEOC cases, etc. I thought this sounded great, and I still had about $1800 in my retainer that Bob said was sufficient for now. Well about two weeks went by and I didn't hear from him. I called and left a couple messages with his secretary. Finally after playing some frustrating phone tag he got back to me stating he had been out sick. I spent my entire lunch break listening to him apologize not only about the phone tag, but also about being out of the office, about how he hadn't filed anything with the EEOC- (then blaming that on the fact that he wasn't sure what I had wanted to do after finding out I was getting divorced which was irrelevant), then informing me he also hadn't contacted the employer's lawyer and denied ever intending to do so. He then informed me that I would need to start an investigation as well as filing a complaint with the EEOC, as apparently they go hand and hand. This investigation now requires ten extra hours of his time, aka. $1200. I asked his opinion, he now thinks that as I'm getting divorced I don't have as good of a chance of winning. I told him I need a few days to think about it. So the following Friday he calls me and tells me that the statute of limitations is coming up and he needs a decision. I tell him to forget it. That I've decided to close the case and I will take a refund on my retainer. He sends me a final statement with a remaining balance now of only $1300. He had all these line by line charges of 0.1 hours for this, 0.1 hours for that, etc. What a joke. Of course I was upset so I emailed him about this and he acted surprised and asked me what charges I was upset about. Then he had the audacity to offer me $41 back. I sent him and email explaining what I thought of his last billing statement and how he did nothing for me since his demand letter (which I may remind you was ineffective). He then sent a highly emotional email responding that his charges are legitimate and he is dismissing me as a client.

We are very sorry that you had a bad experience. We understand that being terminated can be a very emotional and difficult life event. We strive for the best representation possible, and keep the client's best interests in mind at all times. In all cases we inform each client of the risks and costs of legal action, act diligently to determine the facts (ask questions), and adjust strategy as a client's personal situation changes. If it appears that continued legal representation will likely not result in a favorable resolution, we will provide frank and honest advice to the client to avoid unnecessary expenditure of time and money. We charge clients fairly for the work performed and provide detailed billing statements. While we are deeply disappointed to receive an unfavorable review, we would provide the same advice and representation again because while the client was unhappy with the outcome, our legal representation was reasonable and appropriate for her situation.

Discrimination lawsuit

I would like to start by saying I'm not a lawyer or an actor. I was a blue collar worker for the Wisconsin Department of (Corruption) I mean corrections. With that being said! Robert Mihelich (BoB) , 3800 characters in not enough to describe what this man has done for the lives for 2 state employe...es. Before I had met Mr. Mihelich I talked to 4 other Employment lawyers. that was all it was talk. When an Attorney's first word's out of his mouth is his rate, our conversation is over. I came to Mihelich Law office in 2010, after being abused the system I had worked in for 15 years. I sat down with Bob and he listen to a story of cover ups, abuse and sexual misconduct. When the word's came out of his mouth," that is mess up" his reaction was real. I knew right then and there he was the man I wanted to represent us in a class action suit. He was more than just an Attorney. He was a counselor, and a rolodex of information that I never knew existed. Every thing he told us would happen did, he said it would be an up hill climb and it was. It wasn't going to be easy and it wasn't, after all we are taking on the state. Bob was with us every step of the way. He made us feel like we where his only clients and that wasn't easy. After all I know I wasn't the easiest to work with. He showed compassion and understanding when my son who is in the Marines got sent over seas. He would ask how my kid was doing after we discussed my case. It was unreal the way he treated us and how he walked us through the process. I have stayed in touch with Mr. Mihelich, and I refer people to him as often as I can. It's nice to know he is out there and ready to listen to his next client. We can never repay him for all he has done to make our lives whole. He truly is one of a kind. Oh! and we did win our case. God bless you Bob and all and your team has done for us.
