Amazing with FMLA Violations

Almost 5 years ago, I went on FMLA and took a short medical leave from my job. My doctor told me that my job was protected and not to worry about missing work. To my surprise, when I returned to work, my employer abruptly changed my job duties and acted mad I had been gone. This was too much and I... was an emotional mess. I tried fighting to get my job back to no avail. My sister suggested I call a lawyer. I called the only lawyer I knew in Wisconsin. I begged her for help and she gave me 2 lawyer's names her law firm referred individuals to for employment disputes. Both lawyers I called were awful! They wouldn't listen to my story for more than 5 minutes without cutting me off to say they would charge me to come in and meet with them. That's when I turned to Google and found Attorney Mihelich. I spoke with his secretary first (intake) and then received a call back that same week from Attorney Michelich. He gave me free advice for a meeting with HR and my boss. He also told me he hoped I didn't have to hire him. At the HR/boss meeting, company management ganged up on me and told me I was not a "team player" for complaining. I circled back to Attorney Michelich and within two weeks, my boss got fired, the HR manager resigned and I got a speedy confidential resolution to my problem without having to go to court. I was so impressed that as I moved onto other jobs, I refused to accept unfair treatment knowing that the Employer does not always win. If you're a Wisconsin employee with a dispute, let Attorney Mihelich take it on. You will most likely have to pay by the hour, but it's worth it for peace of mind from the idiots who run some of these companies.

Wrongful Termination

I hired Bob as my attorney after working with him prior on what turned out to be a wrongful termination claim against my employer. One of the main reasons I decided to hire Bob (besides his reputation for being good at what he does), is that he treated me with respect and understanding. Bob is a down... to earth person who really cares for his client. He is not just about the money as I found with a few other attorneys I had met with prior. I as terminated after over two decades of service with no real reason or a severance package. Bob worked diligently with me from the start, sharing realistic expectations and options along the way. In the end, I walked away satisfied and with peace of mind. Bob is a great attorney, and one who works closely with you, laying out realistic expectations that help you make the best decision. From the start, he gives great advice and is a bull dog going after what you deserve. I would recommend him to anyone who has an employment case needing legal attention.

Great attorney

Robert was the first call I made and immediately I could tell that he genuinely cared about my situation. When I met with him I was impressed with his approach with my employer. He calmed all of my anxiety and I am so grateful for his help.

Employment Contract

Termination of employment via the employee occurred while following the employment contracts guidelines. Two days later the employer provided immediate termination even though the contract specified 30 days of continued employment. Wrongly, the employer accused the employee of unsubstantiated counte...rclaims against the employee. I, the employee, contacted my lawyer who during the following months negotiated a settlement of which was agreed upon by both parties in favor of the employee.

Discrimination lawsuit

I would like to start by saying I'm not a lawyer or an actor. I was a blue collar worker for the Wisconsin Department of (Corruption) I mean corrections. With that being said! Robert Mihelich (BoB) , 3800 characters in not enough to describe what this man has done for the lives for 2 state employe...es. Before I had met Mr. Mihelich I talked to 4 other Employment lawyers. that was all it was talk. When an Attorney's first word's out of his mouth is his rate, our conversation is over. I came to Mihelich Law office in 2010, after being abused the system I had worked in for 15 years. I sat down with Bob and he listen to a story of cover ups, abuse and sexual misconduct. When the word's came out of his mouth," that is mess up" his reaction was real. I knew right then and there he was the man I wanted to represent us in a class action suit. He was more than just an Attorney. He was a counselor, and a rolodex of information that I never knew existed. Every thing he told us would happen did, he said it would be an up hill climb and it was. It wasn't going to be easy and it wasn't, after all we are taking on the state. Bob was with us every step of the way. He made us feel like we where his only clients and that wasn't easy. After all I know I wasn't the easiest to work with. He showed compassion and understanding when my son who is in the Marines got sent over seas. He would ask how my kid was doing after we discussed my case. It was unreal the way he treated us and how he walked us through the process. I have stayed in touch with Mr. Mihelich, and I refer people to him as often as I can. It's nice to know he is out there and ready to listen to his next client. We can never repay him for all he has done to make our lives whole. He truly is one of a kind. Oh! and we did win our case. God bless you Bob and all and your team has done for us.

"Robert is a very knowledgeable employment attorney, with strong experience including high-level appellate work. He is a "lawyers' lawyer", and someone who other attorneys (including myself) have gone to for advice. I have referred people to Robert, as I respect him as a lawyer and as a pleasant and reasonable person. I highly recommend him."
