Henry S. Gornbein

Attorney Gornbein, told me that his hourly rate is $400 and he asked for $5,000 in advance to take my case. I gave him the money but unfortunately, I lost the case (I filed for an annulment because of marriage fraud and to avoid divorce stigma since the opposite side filed for a divorce, we ended up ...with divorce! I rather have accepted the divorce from the beginning without losing $5000, especially that we were together only for two weeks but Attorney Gornbein told me that I have a good case and I believed him!!!), A few months later I received around $200 back as a refund from my payment after the case closed. From my own experience, I would never ever recommend Attorney Henry Gornbein, AT ALL.

I was going through the client ratings of Henry Gornbein and for the most part they represent him exactly as what he is: one of the best, most trusted family law attorneys in Michigan. It disturbed me to read a couple of the ratings claiming Henry was not prepared, doesn't do trial law, and was no...t looking after the best interest of his clients. Nothing could be further from the truth. Henry was my THIRD attorney during my own divorce. He was the most prepared I have met and provided the proper advice for me to get through my divorce with the least possible fallout for all parties involved. I am also the host of the nation’s most listened to podcast on divorce, Divorce Source Radio. After Henry completed my case I requested that he join Divorce Source Radio and do his very own show regarding the legal side of the divorce process. I did this because I believe his advice is some of the best I have heard from a family law attorney, and I've interviewed hundreds. I’ve also learned that when a client who may be incredibly angry with their soon-to-be ex doesn't get EVERYTHING they want, they direct their anger back to their attorney. Most times, trials are the last resort, and only a very small percentage of divorces end in trial. I often say on my shows that attorneys are only successful when both parties are equally unhappy. How do you think clients feel when their attorney leads them on to believe they can get them everything they want only to end up in trial, where the judge ultimately makes the decision, therefore they don’t receive their desired result? Now they have spent tens of thousands of dollars, split their family even farther apart, and they still end up with the same result they would have most likely received had they have gone the more peaceful path of mediation. What I like about Henry’s approach is that he will go to trial and fight for his clients if needed but does everything in his power to find a more peaceful path of resolution beforehand. If you have children, it is imperative to keep the peace for their sake. Our mantra is “you have to love your kids more than you hate your ex”. Ever looked through reviews of a product or restaurant you love? Most times you find that people love it just as much as you do but you will always find the few that bash it. That’s just the nature of people. There will always be the “haters”. But in a divorce situation, some individuals are dealing with personality disorders, narcissism, and a “must win” mentality, regardless of the cost. This is a recipe for disaster. Regardless of what some of the “haters” are saying, I know Henry to be one of the most trustworthy, hardworking, and dedicated family law attorneys in the country. He is the first one to suggest you do your homework and find the right attorney for yourself. Once you have done your research and hired the attorney, you need to trust them. Believe me, they know more about the legal system than you do. Sometimes you just need to let go and move on. There is life after divorce if you choose to put the past behind and move forward. Do your personal work and don’t try to blame your ex for everything. In my experience, both parties play a role in the success or demise of relationships. If you’re considering Henry you should listen to some of his shows on Divorce Source Radio so you know what he stands for. When he is not working for his clients he spends most of his spare time writing books and doing radio & television shows in an attempt to help people through the process of divorce.

Henry's family law knowledge coupled with his compassion make him an excellent choice for anyone contemplating or going through a divorce.
