Without a doubt, the best criminal defense lawyer in Michigan! I was charged with retail fraud 3rd degree and was beyond scared about what could happen. I did not want to go to jail, or have a larceny/retail fraud on my record. I found the Kelly & Kelly law firm online and sent an email immediately. ...I received a response email within 10 minutes and knew I was at the right place. That evening I was informed about the proactive plan I needed to start in order to get me ready for court and to ensure the best possible outcome for me. I followed the plan and met with Mike to get ready for court. He made me feel much better about the situation and I knew I was in GREAT hands. Not only is he a good lawyer, he is a good person. The day of court Mike stepped up and spoke to the Judge explaining everything perfectly. I ended up with a delayed sentence and if I do not get in trouble for 12 months, everything will be dropped. So I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out for me. All thanks to Mike and his plan!!

My brother and I both received marijuana possession charges on a night out together. We were looking around for representation and my brother found Mike Kelly and read about his proactive approach to criminal cases. We contacted him with hopes to both be represented by the same lawyer. Mike not only ...represented us both, but suggested steps we could take prior to our court date. These steps were intended to get us on the right track with our lives and show the court that we were doing more than the average person in this situation. Both of our charges will be wiped from our permanent record and the steps we took prior to court will help us never get in this situation again. Mike is an amazing defense lawyer and I would highly reccomend him to others. He also caught 3 different mistakes the court made that could have been serious problems for me and my bother. For example, warrants were mistakenly put out for our arrest. We waived our arraignment and the court did not file our paperwork correctly. So they put out warrants for us missing a court date that we didn’t have to be at. Mike’s team quickly blocked the warrants and took care of the situation before it became a real problem. I was charged with an open alcohol misdemeanor while in Detroit for a Lions game. As a Canadian citizen, I was at a loss as to how to manage the situation while ensuring that my criminal record remained clean and I didn’t risk my work security clearance. The day of the pre-trial appearance, Mike worked tirelessly to make sure of the best possible outcome. I could not speak more highly of Mr. Kelly. He assured me when he took on my "Minor in Possession" case that MIPs were a specialty of his and he promised that I would not be convicted of the misdemeanor. He asked that I complete a certain amount of service hours, AA meetings, etc so that we could b...e proactively fighting this charge even before the court date. Once the court date came, Mr. Kelly met with the prosecutor and had my case entirely dismissed. It was the best possible scenario that I could have hoped for. Mr. Kelly is a fighter. Follow his steps to proactively build your case and he will take care of the rest. I am incredibly grateful for what Mr. Kelly has done for me and I know that he is the type of lawyer that you want in your corner of the ring.

Mike has an excellent approach and a good team behind him. I was consulted promptly and efficiently, and completed all of the items he outlined, and had my Reckless Driving Misdemeanor reduced to a Civil Infraction, without even having to go before a judge. I would highly recommend him and his firm... for all serious driving related cases. I initially contacted another lawyer at his firm and was hesitant when they switched me to an (apparently) less experienced lawyer, but I was reassured by his professionalism and specific knowledge of the Livingston County 54th District Court. He clearly explained what was happening, in terms I could easily understand, and made sure I was taking all of the appropriate steps to ensure a good outcome. Definitely follow his pro-active process, it seems a bit over the top at first, but if you stick to the plan it will help you in the long run. The only negative I can think of would be that the price was a bit steep IMO, but when you're looking at a 90 day license suspension, 6 points, and a several hundred dollar fine (plus driver responsibility fees...), then it doesn't make sense to spend less on a lawyer.
