4 year old OWI minor case

I had a run in with the police in June of 2014 for an OWI as a minor, but never heard anything about it until 4 years later when I was 24. We decided to hire Dan and were extremely happy with his work. He stayed in close contact with the prosecutors allowing for us to know exactly what our options ...were. We decided to take the matter to trial. With the lateness of the charge Dan was able to to provide enough reason against the prosecutors arguments which led to my case being dismissed. Dan is professional and is very understanding of the circumstances you may find yourself in helping to put you more at ease with the way you decide to approach your problem.

Professional and effective

We worked with Dan Geherin to resolve a potentially (very) serious legal issue with my teenage son. Dan provided a first consultation and explained his costs up front and outlined his proposed strategy. There were no surprises in the process... Dan provided reassurance and clear, step by step recom...mendations that we followed and he implemented his strategy with great results. He always communicated directly with each of us and approached the case with a collaborative effort. We ended up getting the best results possible given the situation, and everything went as Dan predicted. Full disclosure... the fee for his work was a little bit higher than some other lawyers might charge, but he was very up front about this and delivered great results, so I would definitely work with him again even though I sure hope I don't need to!

OWI Defense of Daniel Geherin

Attorney Daniel Geherin was referred to me by an associate to defend me in an OWI (Operating While intoxicated) case brought by the 16th District Court. I had never been in this situation before and had never been arrested. In my dealings with Mr Geherin, whom I engaged for my defense, I found him ...to be professional, direct and experienced in such cases. With the OWI, whereby I blew 0.17 (considered super-drunk), I was faced with possible jail time and the loss of my license. Mr. Geherin reviewed the officer's police report and video cam of the incident, consulted with me on my options, and advised me on what I could expect. With his experience, he was familiar with the judge (McCann) that I was to appear before, and advised as to how I should handle myself in court. He met with the prosecutor and was able to get the recommended charge reduced two levels to restricted driving for 90 days, with fours days of a work program and 16 hours of community service, along with systematic alcohol testing and drug testing for 90 days. Although the price to retain Mr. Geherin's service was not inexpensive, it was a wise move to have him in the court room representing me. I do not believe I would have realized the reduced sentence that I did had I not hired him. The prosecutor was aiming for a suspended license for 30 days, which would have made it difficult, or at least expensive, for me to commute to and from work for that period. I highly recommend Mr. Geherin in the area of DWI/OWI cases due to the experience he has in this area.
