Excellent Defense Attorney

EXCELLENT ATTORNEY- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Brian Montoye represented me in a Domestic Violence criminal case. Brian conducted a successful verdict, with a result of a not guilty in my case. Brian was extremely knowledgeable of the law and was exceptional in the court room environment. My case was complex and Brian had multiple strategies prepared depending on how the prosecuting attorney presented their evidence in the case. I could not believe how hard he prepared and he did not have just a single approach to defending me. Brian had thought out all the possible options the prosecuting attorney could attempt during the case and he had an answer for every situation ready to defend me. Brian made me feel comfortable about the situation I was facing, how the law works and reassured me he would do his best to represent me. I was really impressed by Brian and would definitely recommend hiring him for your attorney. He is highly competent, very impressive, tough ligating, competitive and really a great attorney. I feel honestly that Brian is just an overall good guy that makes you feel comfortable even though you are probably in a difficult legal situation.

Mr. Montoye is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and in the Eastern Federal District Courts. He earned his B.S. in History from Eastern Michigan University, where he was a three-year letter winner in Division I Football and was a member of the Honors Program. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI. In law school, he was a Senior Associate Editor of The Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, won a Certificate of Merit in Criminal Procedure, and received the Honors Scholarship, Dean's List Award, and Honor Roll in every term.

During law school, Mr. Montoye clerked for Simon & Geherin PLLC, defended criminal clients as part of the Washtenaw County Public Defender Clinic, and represented elder law clients on a variety of matters through the Elder Law clinic in Lansing. After graduation, Mr. Montoye worked for a prominent Ann Arbor law firm, Fink and Valvo PLLC, and practiced in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation and landlord-tenant litigation. He has successfully litigated hundreds of criminal and civil cases in courts throughout southeastern Michigan. Mr. Montoye is a member of the Washtenaw County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan, and was an assistant varsity football coach for Chelsea High School.

In 2013, Mr. Montoye joined Simon & Geherin, PLLC, where he specializes in state criminal defense, traffic cases, juvenile delinquency matters, and driver's license restoration cases.

Excellent Defense Attorney

Brian did excellent work with all parties. He communicated respectfully and clearly to myself and my family. He worked hard and got the best deal possible. I believe he made good recommendations that were not only best for me, but also for my situation. He helped avoid a lengthy process that could have been much more expensive. Much Appreciated!

Highly Recommended

Brian Montoye helped me beyond expectations. I was facing a misdemeanor charge and he was able to reduce it to a civil infraction, saving me from a criminal record. Highly recommended.

Defending a college student

Mr. Montoye defended my son and we were completely pleased about working with him. He did an excellent job of communicating and answering questions, explaining the options and implications. The best possible results were achieved, giving my son the chance to avoid a permanent criminal record. My stress as a parent was greatly reduced by hiring Mr. Montoye.

Great Trial Attorney - Reliable and Responsive - Excellent in and out of the Courtroom

Brian Montoye conducted a successful defense, obtaining a verdict of not guilty in a criminal case. He showed exceptional knowledge pertaining to the distinctive character of the judges, prosecutors, police force and the legal system. This knowledge was very beneficial throughout. I was also impressed by his knowledge of the law and his professional interactions with the judge and his skillful questioning of the witnesses. He did a great job of limiting the presentation of the very aggressive prosecutor. He took plenty of time to prepare, knew all of the pertinent facts, and had proper strategies in place prior to the trial in what was a very complex case. I cannot emphasize enough how responsive and diligent he was throughout, keeping me informed of new information and swiftly returning my calls. At the same time, he was very efficient. This case had a lot of twists and turns leading up to the trial and during the trial, which he navigated very proficiently. He offered a fixed fee, and did not shirk when it went longer and became more complex than initially expected. I have very high regard, trust and confidence in him. I recommend him highly.

Helpful and Conscientious

Brian has helped me with legal advice regarding my business and also the sale of a rental property. In both situations he was very patient with my questions and clearly explained all of my options, allowing me to make educated decisions. I appreciate his knowledge, quick response to my questions and patience while explaining the various options that I had in each situation.
