I am an avid outdoorsman, and regularly hunt waterfowl, deer, turkey, coyote, and other big game. I also like to fish, hike, camp, and hang out around bonfires.
For fun, I pretend to be a rock star and enjoy playing bass guitar in a few local alternative bands here in Youngstown. One of those bands was a local punk institution that helped to develop a downtown bar called "Cedars" waaaay back in the 1980s.
Although I love to read, my career tends to pull me away from that passion. History appeals the most to me.
Another passion is foreign languages and cultures. I speak a few languages now and am currently studying Spanish and Italian. I have travelled globally to the Carribean, England, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Kenya, and China. Here in the US, I have been to about 25 States.
After a ridiculous hiatus (that's a high-falootin' way of saying "a break"), I put a bike together and enjoyed "wind therapy" as often as I can.
I am equally comfortable in a flea market(can you say "Four Seasons"?) as I am at a high-brow black tie event. You might stumble into me at an auction, a poker run, or a muscle car show too.

Posted by anonymous | February 9, 2016 | Hired Attorney
I was recommended to Dennis DiMartino and his associates through a friend. Dennis was very energetic at first, bringing multiple associates on board and promising many things. But then as time went on, he was less and less reachable, and less and less accountable. After months of court delays, he w...

This attorney is not consistent or reliable. He disappears for weeks without letting you know what is going on. He made commitments that he did not always follow through on. I had to hire another attorney because I never knew if he was going to follow through on prior commitments. He has a very p...

I had Dennis as my attorney a couple of times. It should have only been once. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was wrong to do so. Although he comes across as a really smart man, I sometimes believe that is only an act. He isn't very dependable.

I would highly recommend this lawyer and would use him again if I needed his services. He was prompt , and his research was correct. He called and returned calls appropriately. He did exactly what he told me he would do. He was fair, honest, legally correct, and professional. That is what I woul...
"Without any reservation whatsoever, I endorse Dennis. He is the best and brightest criminal trial lawyer I have ever encountered. Dennis is experienced, knowledgeable, comfortable, and skillful in a court-room."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Dennis since Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he was our SBA class president. Dennis has established a reputation amongst his peers as an aggressive, dedicated advocate for his clients. I have callled upon Dennis for expert referrals and advice. He has won many cases for his clients. I recall one particular case where his client was facing four life counts of rape involving a young child. Dennis told me how strong he believed in his client and how nervous he was knowing that if convicted his client would spend the rest of his life behind bars for crimes he did not commit. Dennis did a spectacular job and the jury acquitted his client of all chages! Simply awesome. Dennis is a zealous advocate, personable and has a great sense of humor. I am proud to have him as my friend and colleague."
"I would highly recommend Dennis for any criminal matter. Over the years, I have regularly called upon him for advice on my own criminal cases, to which he has always been available, attentive, and extremely insightful. He is very bright and a true talent in the courtroom, especially in front of jury."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Dennis for 28 years, and in those years, he has exhibited an undying commitment to friendship, caring, professionalism, and integrity. God forbid a million times if I ever needed a criminal defense attorney, I would turn to my friend Dennis, who is so exceptional, that he is second to none and I can support that statement with numerous examples over the years. When my father passed away in 1985, during our first year in law school, it was Dennis who scooped me up to rescue me from the horrible darkness I was plunging into. Dennis deserves only the very best in life and you are blessed if you can call him "friend.""
"I endorse this lawyer for his excellent answers regarding criminal law. I would recommend him for his practice area as it appears he has a solid grasp of the somewhat more difficult criminal law conundrums we are confronted with."
"Dennis has always seemed to grasp the larger broad picture involved in the matter being litigated. He is able to quickly understand and work with complex ideas and concepts. Dennis seems to truly understand his client's needs and desires and cares about his client's satisfaction."
"I have known Dennis for more than twenty years, and if there is any lawyer more energetic in the representation of his clients I haven't met him yet. Dennis is devoted to representing his clients in every aspect of the judicial process."
"I endorse this lawyer. I tried a case with him a few years ago. He was one of the best trial attorneys that I have had the privilege to practice with."
"I endorse this lawyer. Dennis Armand provides the most thorough and well thought-out legal advice. He is comitted to shepharding people through trying and difficult decisions. I am impressed with his responses on AVVO."
"MY NAME IS BILL SUMMERS; I CERTAINLY KNOW THIS MAN AS A LAWYER, PERSON, FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE AND HAVE SINCE THE DAY HE WAS ADMITTED. THE DISCIPLINE HE ENDURED WAS UNNECESARY. HE IS A GREAT LAWYER, GREAT PERSON AND I TRUST HIM AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF MY TRUST. I WOULD RELY UPON HIM IN ANY WAY CONCEIVABLE, WHETHER WITH MY CLIENTS, MY FAMILY OR EVEN MY LIFE. I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAW FOR OVER 42 YEARS AND I RECEIVED THE NATIONAL HEENEY MEMORIAL AWRD FROM THE NACDL IN 1982, THEIR HIGHEST HONOR. THANK YOU"
"Dennis DiMartino is a principled and thorough advocate. I've heard this sentence more than once, to wit: "I've never been able to beat Dennis DiMartino." More importantly, however, Dennis has the kind of wisdom that comes with years of trials and negotiations, and he's provided me with his own keen insight in complicated cases in my own practice. It's a real privilege to be able to endorse him."

“I was disciplined for a personal matter that occurred as i was ending my first marriage. It did not involve a client, money, drugs, or anything else like that. I am embarrassed that I acted out of emotion and did something I deeply regret to this day. Most all the local Judges and lawyers agree that it had nothing to do with my abilities in the Courtroom as a Trial lawyer.”
Placed On Probation issued in OH, 2007
updated on 10/01/2012Probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
“I did not work on the same pace that a Client wanted, who requested a full refund. As I had already devoted time on the case, including several trips to the prison and Courthouse, I could account for half the retainer and returned the other half to the Client's representative. They disagreed and pursued a Grievance. I was given a suspended sentence and continued representing Clients who needed an experienced, aggressive Criminal Defense attorney.”
Suspension Stayed issued in OH, 1994
updated on 10/01/2012Suspension stayed means the attorney has been suspended, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with certain requirements.
“I was a very young lawyer and didn't keep up with the work that was required on a case. I was reprimanded for my errors, which I deserved. I learned that if I was going to be a Trial attorney, I had to develop good systems to stay on top of the never ending caseload of Clients!”
