also known as Marty Delahunty, Martin S. Delahunty III
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, graduating in 1984. I went on to law school at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and received my law degree in 1987. The early part of my legal career was spent representing insurance carriers. After 13 years, I wanted to use my knowledge and experience to represent people who have been injured and families who have needlessly lost a loved one. I have been lead trial counsel in over 3,000 cases and had over 200 of these cases taken to a verdict. I have litigated cases involving civil rights, class action torts, medical malpractice and nursing home negligence and abuse cases. I have prepared in-depth analysis of amendments to statutes and regulations and projected their impact on legal strategies. I have created, trained and led successful litigation teams responsible for extremely complicated legal issues. I have also routinely developed and implemented proactive case strategies to prevail in highly challenging and contested legal battles. I am a certified mediator in the State of Ohio.
I have been practicing law for over 25 years and have been involved in complex litigation for both Defendants and Plaintiffs. My specialty is Nursing Home Abuse. I have handled over 750 nursing home abuse & neglect cases.
Like all the attorneys at Slater & Zurz LLP, I am focused on getting results for my clients while providing them with unparalleled service and sound guidance. In the event that a trial is necessary, I have extensive trial experience with a proven record of success. Over the course of my 25 year career, I have secured multi-million dollar settlements and received numerous jury verdicts in excess of $100,000.

I retained Marty for my dads' estate and for the neglect that caused his death at the nursing care facility. I've dealt with attorneys before and... found Marty to be just more then an attorney. Marty is a personable and compassionate attorney. He made my mom and I feel at ease, and that we didn't ...

We came to Marty late in the game. A previous attorney had done nothing, and we only had one week left to file. We gave Marty all the paper-work, he went thru it it no time, and filed the suit against the nursing home for my Mom (deceased)
