Sarah Thomas Kovoor

Sarah has been extremely helpful during a time-sensitive criminal case for my significant other who was incarcerated. She was able to provide support to a case to narrow down charges all into one charge within one court system. She was able to take on a case with an outcome that I am more than happy ...with, along with the person who was incarcerated. The updates that I was provided with during this process were helpful to me and they both, have been able to inform me with what happened with the case. After speaking with numerous attorneys about a very delicate situation involving my child, I came across Sarah. From the first call to her assistant, I felt that my child would be in good hands with Sarah and I knew she was the attorney I wanted to hire. Sarah met with my family after hours o...n the same day of my initial call. At that visit, she alleviated a lot of stress by being knowledgeable and compassionate. Her compassion never subsided. Sarah was always accessible to discuss any matter that I had at any time. She was understanding of my concerns no matter how trivial they may have been. She always made me feel that my child’s situation was as important to her as it was to me. I would recommend Sarah to anyone that is looking for an attorney that has integrity and will work tirelessly for you. I trusted Sarah with my child, and I was not let down.

This is a little lengthy but trust me, if I had read what you about to read several years ago, I would probably have been sparred myself from some bogus convictions that are on my record so please don't take these words lightly. Learn from MY mistakes and save yourself from having to go down the wron...g path: If it wasn't for Sarah Kovoor, I would be in a jail cell right now for a crime I didn't commit. I was accused of committing a misdemeanor 2 which held a maximum sentence of 90 days, all over a complete misunderstanding I had with someone who went to the police thinking I had tried to commit a crime. I was charged with the M2 which lead to a very stressful couple of months. When you have potential jail time hanging over your head, you feel like your whole life is on hold, all of your personal and professional relationships and obligations are put on hold and even at risk, especially when it's over a crime you didn't commit. I went to pretrial before hiring an attorney to see how the prosecution planned to proceed. Because I had a couple of priors, priors that I would have likely had dismissed or plead down had I hired Sarah instead of relying on an underpaid, careless, overworked public "defender", they wanted to throw the book at me. The prosecutor offered me a plea "bargain" which was to plea to, get this, the EXACT SAME CHARGE. Obviously, I said no in which he stated, okay, we will go to trial. I felt pretty helpless and knew I had to hire a good attorney. I researched nearly every local attorney and because Sarah had great reviews, I decided to at least speak to her about my case. That's when things started to finally look up for me. She was very confident and assured me not to worry, that we would likely get this at least reduced to minor charge. Not only that, she only charged me a 1/3rd of what the other attorneys I spoke to wanted! Walking out of her office, for the first time in months, I felt a sense of relief knowing I was in good hands. To walk into a courtroom knowing you have someone who will go to battle with you and who truly does want to help you win your case is a night and day from relying on a public pretender who works hand in glove with the prosecution and doesn't care whether you win or lose. We showed up for trial, she spoke to the prosecutor, and 10 minutes later she came out with a plea deal that dropped my case to a minor misdemeanor, no jail time, non-reporting probation, and a small fine as opposed to getting the serious misdemeanor, 30-90 days in jail, and God only knows how much in fines, had I not hired her. I honestly don't know how she did it. Granted, I could have went to trial but being that I had priors, the trial may have resulted in a conviction. The risk was just a little to high so taking a slap on the wrist was my best option. My Advice to Anyone Charged with a Crime: 1. Your rights won't defend themselves. You have to be the one to learn those rights and see that they're exercised. The prosecution will roll right over you if you don't stand up and fight. 2. When you're arrested, there's a reason why the police state "anything you state can and WILL be used AGAINST you in a court of law" meaning no matter how innocent you are, whatever you say to the police will be used against you, not to help or exonerate you. 3. Research as much as you can about how to win in court and hire an attorney. Make sure they have a good track record and don't be afraid to interview multiple attorneys. Remember, you are hiring and paying them. 4. Finally, I can't stress enough how wise it would be to at least speak with Sarah about your case. I am very confident that you will be very pleased that you did. Her and her secretary Robin are very understanding as to how the system can railroad people. She'll go to battle for you and won't relent in the process which is the exact opposite of what Ive seen most public pretenders do. Trust me, she's the best attorney around.

I can't say enough good things about this highly respected and skillful attorney. Attorney Kovoor took such good care of me right from the start. I had called several attorneys trying to get an appointment because I needed an attorney right away. Her secretary arranged for me to meet with Attorney... Kovoor after regular office hours so she could get me in right away. She took the time to really listen to me, and explain the things I didn't understand. She laid out a plan for how she would handle my case, and I left her office already feeling relieved and knowing I had found the right person to defend me. Other people have told me that their lawyers don't return their calls for days, if at all. Attorney Kovoor always took my calls if she was in the office or returned them the same day. I even had an after hours number to reach her if I needed her. Every time we went to court, Attorney Kovoor really fought for me and eventually WON MY CASE! I have referred several people to her and they are all just as happy with her as I am. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do, Attorney Kovoor will be my first phone call!
