Biography
Attorney Bucher focuses his practice on assisting persons charged with OVI/DUI across Northwest Ohio. He sets himself apart from other OVI attorneys through his training which includes certification as an instructor in NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, training in Headspace Gas Chromatography (the process used by all Ohio crime labs to analyze blood and urine samples), training in advanced drug recognition, certification on Ohio 's breath testing equipment, and his continual training in OVI specific topics through the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, DUI Defense Lawyers Association, and the National College of DUI Defense.
In addition to this training that is OVI specific, Attorney Bucher is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy. This allows him to take a scientific approach to those cases where chemical testing of some sort (breath, blood, or urine) is conducted.
Attorney Bucher accepts select personal injury cases and traffic cases that are not OVI specific.

Best Option for Traffic Related Cases

Replied last September 06, 2017Things like this happen all the time because Breath Testing, especially how it is conducted in Ohio, is just not that reliable. In many courts a test of this level creates extreme difficulty in getting a favorable resolution. It is always good to be polite to police but it is also important to remember that you can be polite and still decline to take any field sobriety tests (there is no penalty for refusing to do any roadside tests like the walk and turn, one leg stand, counting. alphabet, or letting the officer "check your eyes") and you can always request the time and opportunity to talk to a lawyer prior to a breath test. While you may be hearing threats of "losing your license for a year" as consequence of refusal, understand that if the breath test machine spits out a bad number for whatever reason and you are convicted of OVI the court MUST under the new law... suspend your license for a year AND can suspend it for up to three years!
