I am the founder of The Schafer Law Office. I have been licensed in the state of Kentucky since 1986, graduating from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. I have over 25 years of practical yet innovative experience dealing with personal injury cases. Unlike many attorneys who use paralegals to manage cases, write briefs, motions and meet with clients, I make it my personal goal to be personally involved in all of those things. I give a great deal of personal attention to each and every case. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, making as many trips to Big Sky and Snow Bird as I can in a year, as well as rooting for the University of Louisville Cardinals at sporting events.

Fight for you!
I hired Mike and his team to represent me because of a pretty scary car accident that wasn’t my fault. I had major back injuries and the insurance companies were being down right nasty. Mike fought BACK! Not once but every time Him and his staff of hardworking honest people made me feel a lot better while they worked 100% to give me the compensation I deserved .everything was sorted out after just a few meetings. Forget those big “heavy hit” lawyers. False promises made because you are only a number in the schedule book. I’d hire Mike again in a heartbeat. -James

Michael Schafer represented me in a pedestrian accident where a SUV ran into me while walking. Michael was very professional and was very concerned about my recovery. He walked me through the legal process and set expectations. He keep me informed throughout the duration of the case.

When you need the Right Team
As a personal injury lawyer, Michael Schafer is the way to go. Oleta and the rest of the staff are personable, thoughtful and get things DONE. Mike is an easy to talk to person who gets results. As unpleasant as a personal injury case is to have to deal with, they made it bearable, went OUT OF THEIR WAY to help, and honestly showed compassion. I never felt like a number or forgotten under a pile of paperwork. Hopefully, we won't have to meet again under these circumstances, but I know I'm covered if we do. what kind awesome person
my son not from Kentucky but from Michigan was traveling when he ran out of gas him and his friends late at night went searching for gas well on the way back on may 23,2013 at age 20 yrs old was struck and killed instantly he was bout half mile from his car .Mike was first one i called stuck by me even to the point that insurance was not gonna pay they had decided to settle and we won...i probably wont ever have to use him again because i live in Michigan but if you are in Kentucky this is the number one guy to go to....you rock mike thank you Carl got justice thanks to you...r.i.p. Carl 3/25/93 to 5/24/13 your are still my number 1 greatly loved and missed by all...

Great Experience
I was involved in a minor accident in 2012, and contacted Michael Schafer, who had represented my in a DUI ten years prior. He was able to help me get the medical attention I needed as I didn't have health insurance at the time. I really appreciated the way he explained the law and how it related to my case. I will refer him to everyone I know.

The best lawyer in louisville,ky
My first experience with mr. Schafer was 10/2008 n I was surprised how professional mr. Schafer n his staffs was during all my visits. I was scared on my first visit with mr.schafer because I heard a lot of negative things about accident lawyers in louisville,ky.. But after talking to him I felt comfortable n trust in mr.schafer . After my settlement I was extremely happy n satisfy with mr.schafer n his staffs. Next, my auntie had a accident n she asked me about a lawyer n I gave her mr.schafer phone and after her settlement, she thanks me for giving her mr.schafer number. Then, my mother had an accident n she called me to get mr.schafer number because she said she didn't truth these other lawyers after her bad experience. Last, my wife,son n I was involve n a accident with a guy that rear end us n the first person I called was mr.schafer!!! Thanks to mr.schafer n his stuffs, god bless

Mike helped my family during our accident case in 2006,2009.He was very helpful with any questions I had. He has made my family and I feel that we were important, and he had our best interest in mind.Our own auto insurance company wasn't being fair with us and mike made sure to help us through the trying time,even though it took a three year period to work out.I feel other attorneys would have just given up and looked the other way,but mike didn't.I do and will continue to recommend mike.

Stop looking...you've found the BEST!
I have called upon Mike Schafer twice for legal services, once for an accident I was involved in and the other for my 15 year old daughter who was struck by a hit and run driver. He was very professional but I felt he treated us like family. He was truly concerned about our health and was always available for questions and updates about our case. I would highly recommend Mr. Schafer to all my family and friends.

Sound advice
Mike Schafer assisted me with a debt collection case. He was able to remain neutral and objective in guiding me through the process. I really appreciated his "hand holding" through an unfamiliar experience. I found his advice to be practical and realistic. He was very good about offering different scenarios/ways to proceed with pros and cons so I could make an informed decision.
