Several years ago, I entered into a verbal agreement which allowed someone to rent my home. When I was ready to sell the property, the renter refused to vacate. We had a tenant/lease issue come up that required us needing to move quickly due to unsafe health conditions that were not being addressed and compounded by having a lease that was month-to-month that was not being honored as such. In short, the landlord was trying to lock us into months of rent that... were not part of the lease in addition to it being unsanitary living conditions.
