Joe is such a great lawyer! He had given me so much great advice for 2 years before I even hired him. I would call him randomly & ask him questions about my tenant & rental property. It is not easy in Alabama for a father to get full custody of his daughter. Mr. Sommas was relentless in my case, and we won. In my opinion, he worked far over and above the money I paid, in order to make sure that my daughter was in a safe and stable environment, which is with me. He does not remind... me of most other lawyers I have met or dealt with. He really cares about his cases and the people involved. He is passionate about children. I was very pleased with my entire experience, and I will not use any other family law attorney in the future besides Mr. Sommas. He has also done my will and trust for my daughter and went above and beyond to make sure she will be cared for in the even that something happens to me. I highly recommend him.

I work at a group home for adolescents with autism and behavior issues. One of the adolescents turned 21 but he still needed a guardian but it made the process difficult since he was 21. After a couple rounds of stringent HOA enforcement, a re-read of the covenants raised questions about what could, should, and might apply to my specific situation. After reviewing and discussing the 50+ pages of documents, Joe at our consulta...tion gave his frank assessment that the situation was probably not winnable, and even if successful would not be cost effective to pursue through legal channels. In the alternative, he offered a “best case” scenario to shoot for in negotiating with the HOA and some strategies (who to talk to, framing the conversation) to gain some breathing room between me and the HOA.
