Mike's experience and attention to detail brought structure and sanity to this very stressful process

I retained Michael halfway through my divorce process after my first attorney was not meeting my expectations. Michael’s knowledge of divorce law helped both put structure and understanding around the process and he was able to give me peace of mind that the process was being handled properly. Mich...ael was able to clearly explain my options with the associated implications. This allowed me to make informed decisions with ease in a very stressful environment. Michael was also able to pick up the pieces and get my divorce back on the right schedule after being poorly handled by prior representation. Additionally, Mike never rushed our conversations and either his assistant Donna or he was always available and responsive. I would recommend Michael to anyone going through this process.

Father gets majority timeshare of young daughter

I am a father and after retaining Mr. Fluke as my lawyer, I now have majority custody of my daughter. Working with Mr. Fluke has been great because he is honest from the beginning, so you always know what the plan is and what to expect. If you have one conversation with Mr. Fluke, you will get a sen...se for this, which is what I experienced. Before retaining Mr. Fluke, I worked with a “pay as you go” lawyer. I started with a small retainer but it seemed to always run out and I was sent a notice in the mail with x number of days to pay more. It was a very impersonal experience with this lawyer and she eventually had to drop off my case due to a conflict of interest. What I found in Mr. Fluke was the exact opposite experience. I found Mr. Fluke by doing a search online and after reading numerous excellent reviews of him, I called him. He was completely up front about what my situation was, what he thought he could help me with and how much it would cost. I found he won’t take just any case – he has to feel he has the opportunity to give you what you are searching for, which is to win your case. He won’t waste your time or try to retain you as a client as a revenue stream. I worked with Mr. Fluke for about a year and always had his cell phone number in my phone and access to him as needed. My situation was extremely unique as I am a father, who was seeking full custody of a 5 year-old daughter. However, given the details of my case, Mr. Fluke knew I had a shot. There was one point in my case where we were offered a deal to settle and Mr. Fluke encouraged me to do so. At first I wasn’t so sure, because I wasn’t getting exactly what I was searching for, but he knew better. We took the deal and within months, it helped me to get majority custody. He was able to see the bigger picture and his experience working with other lawyers and judges gave him the insight to guide me in a way that gave me the long term result I wanted. A few months ago, I got majority custody of my daughter, with her mom having every other weekend visitation with her. Even though this was best for my daughter, I had fears about judges favoring mothers, which sadly, is a reality. However, Mr. Fluke’s experience allows him to strategize and win cases that seem the unlikeliest to win. He really is at top of his game. He is smart, strategic, and confident, all traits you want your lawyer to have. Also, it is worth noting that after paying my initial retainer, I never paid again. As I mentioned, he is honest about what it will take and doesn’t plan to bill you for more as you go. I would highly recommend Mr. Fluke for any legal needs. I know he will be saved in my phone book for any future needs I may have.

Do it right the first time.

If you are reading this, I will assume that you have been served or are preparing to serve your spouse. This review will also be more geared toward the person with greater financial position in the marriage. With those two assumptions in place, I will explain why I so strongly recommend Michael Flu...ke. I titled this review “Do it right the first time” because, frankly, I did not do it right the first time and it cost me dearly. Resist the temptation to find the most inexpensive attorney. In fact, my recommendation is to run from them. I, like many of Mike’s clients, came to him to clean up the mess my previous attorney had made. Don’t make the same mistake I did, go to Mike first! Here are the reasons why: 1. Mike has a very strong reputation within the legal community. This will immediately stop the other side from throwing haymakers. You need to be in a position where the other side doesn’t feel so empowered that they will try anything. Hiring Mike will keep them from trying silly stuff and if they do, he will see it coming from a mile away. 2. Mike is a former defense attorney. Like I said earlier, I am focusing on those of you who were the primary breadwinner. Those of you with a high-income need to really focus on this area. If you thought the IRS had you in their crosshairs, wait until your angry spouse and her (or his) is attorney come after you. You instantly become the defendant and you need a guy with a background like Mike’s to defend you. 3. Mike understands finances. Again, if you have a lot to protect (even if it is just a lot to you) you need to work with someone who can get his head around the numbers. An attorney who gets lost in the numbers could easily hang you out to dry and not even know it. 4. Mike sets goals. One of the things Mike told me is you need to set an end game. Something that will prevent your divorce from going on forever. We have all heard about the divorces that went on longer than the marriages. That is not Mike’s game. He wants to move forward with a real finish line that everyone can see. 5. Mike is a legal expert. He can answer any legal question you present him with. If you are like me, you know very little about family law in Florida. You need your attorney to know these laws by heart and Mike does. 6. On a personal level, Mike has made it public that he has been through the divorce process himself. This gave him immediate credibility from my perspective. 7. Finally, Mike and Donna are accessible. I have talked to many individuals that said they had a hard time reaching their attorney. I never had that problem. I was always able to reach either person when I needed to. I started this review by saying that you should choose Mike as your attorney from the beginning to avoid the pitfalls that I experienced. If you already have an attorney and he/she doesn’t bring the 7 characteristics I described above, frankly, you need to switch. Remember, with the schedules of all the players involved, each step in the process will take 3-6 months. So if your initial mediation or hearing went bad, it will probably take you 6 months to even get an opportunity to readdress it, let alone change it. Consider the fact that whatever the final judgment or settlement is may impact you for the rest of your life. You need to have best defense you can get. There are many cheaper attorneys out there. Poor representation can cost you dearly. If you hire Michael Fluke, you will be well defended.

Superior attorney!

Having dealt with numerous attorneys over the years, I fully endorse Mike Fluke. He has a superior knowledge of the law and trial procedure. The thing I find best about Mike is that he tells you what you need to know - even when its not what you want to hear - he'll always be straight with you. Wh...at makes Mike a truly unique attorney however is his work ethic, expertise and composure - he is 100% prepared (whether for deposition, mediation or trial) with the facts, the case strategy and the law. He is always courteous and respectful with everyone involved but I'd hate to be his opposing counsel when it comes time to go trial.

Thank You Michael

After doing an initial search and screening, Michael came up as the best / most qualified choice. Other lawyers did not return calls, were 3 paralegals deep, gave a canned spiel or otherwise were setting off alarms. Minute I spoke to Michael, I could tell that he was different. Michael is extremely... quick on his feet and extremely knowledgeable. More importantly, he is really wise for his years. In Family Court issues there are many variables and a lot of uncertainty. Michael was the only attorney who spoke in scenarios and the what-ifs - the good and the bad. Extremely hard working and extremely dedicated to my case. I was fortunate to find Michael on the 'first go around'. Most of my friends who have had family court matters have gone through numerous lawyers, wasted years and lots of money. My recommendation is to save aggravation, save stress, save time and save money. Michael is the hands down best choice. I am extremely grateful that I have him in my corner so I can now focus on the most important priorities in my life, my two kids, my job, my business. I am discovering that when my marriage crumbled that it was not the end, but a new beginning. Mike helped lift a huge burden off my back and helped the healing begin for the family.
