I was born in New Jersey and raised in South Florida (Dade County).  In 1997 I relocated to the Tampa Bay area where I attended Stetson University and graduated in 1999 with a dual degree, JD/MBA.  I began my legal career in 2000 working as an Assistant Public Defender for both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties until I decided to go out into private practice in 2006.  Throughout my entire career I have primarily focused on  defending those accused of criminal offenses and I am zealous and a firm believer that everyone should be afforded due process, fairness, and the right to have their day in court.  I fight unrelentingly on behalf of those who I undertake to defend and will not leave any stone unturned in my defense mission of making the government prove its case and defending my client’s constitutional rights.  I handle all types of criminal cases ranging from serious felony charges such as murder, drug trafficking, DUI, gun charges, to less serious cases such as misdemeanor and traffic cases.  Please visit my Habitual Traffic Offender site, .  I

Charged w/DUI, Refusal & a felony cont'd substance
I looked into 'word-of-mouth' referrals friends/people told me, & found Haydee Oropesa in one of those mail flyers, I liked her, had a good feeling about her. My instinct was good about our first phone conversation & I was sold after our meeting at her office that lasted over an hour and I enjoyed immensely all her activist success stories proving shes a real & true fighter in court for her clients. In the end, the state was afraid to go to trial & dropped the DUI charge to a non-criminal infraction of "careless driving" & a fine. No jail, no probation or house arrest. A+++ if you want a REAL FIGHTER, you won't be disappointed with Haydee Oropesa!!

Felony Charges
Facing up to 9 years in prison, we hired Haydee for criminal defense. She was diligent in all aspects of our case and explored all options. She is extremely responsive, always answered all my calls, day or evening. That was a huge plus. At the end of all of this, no prison time, but rather community control. I would recommend Haydee and am very thankful for all her hard work on our case.

Haydee took care of my HTO status - quick and cheap
I was worried about losing my license for 5 years for an HTO, called around to many lawyers - all charging double what Haydee was. She looked up my driver record free of charge and was very responsive and confident, so I went with her. She filed a motion to have adjudication withheld on one of my tickets the very same day I paid her. Two business days later the motion was granted, with just days before my HTO revocation was to go into effect. Overall she was quick, responsive, and half the price of her competitors - highly recommended.

Ms.Oropesa did the impossible.
After being told by a few other firm's that i will not be able to remove my HTO from my license i lost hope,so i continued to keep searching until i came across Ms.Oropesa. I called her around 7pm on a Saturday to tell her my situatuon,few minutes later she paid for my driving record considering that other firm's asks for you to pay for your own record. From there i knew Ms.Oropesa wanted to help me. I hired her because i felt like she treated me as family and took my case very seriously. She worked effortlessly everyday gathered as much information from other sources relevant to my case and set a court date. Her professionalism in the court room was amazing she did what others said will be impossible. Ms.Oropesa is a fighter and im grateful to have her by my side.

Very satisfied with her legal service
I endorse this lawyer. Haydee is a decent person with great integrity. We had hired Haydee to represent us on two criminal defense cases so far. She was amazing! We were for sure facing life in prison even though we had hired a very expensive attorney to represent us. We were glad to have found Haydee a few days before the sentencing date, She looked at the case went to work on it right away, found an opening then dismissed the current judge. Reset the case and got us out of the life in prison term. She just got us out of another legal jam just 2 days ago. I know how Haydee was able to solve our legal problems no matter the situations. It's because she is relentless in her pursuit of getting new discoveries from all avenues, nights and days, her mind is always scrambling to find the best way(s) to prepare for her client's case defense. Couldn't be happier!
I called Haydee after calling many other attorneys on AVVO. I went with her because she gave me the most direct answers and genuinely made me feel like she cared about helping me with my case. I felt like just another number with all of the other attorneys. Honestly I didn't think Haydee would take my case because my court date was the next day. But she did take my case at a far more reasonable rate than any of the other attorneys I had called. She is also very direct and straightforward which is a great attribute. I can tell she's passionate about what she does and will put her best effort forward. Haydee's outcome with my case was even better than what she set the expectation for. I thought I was done after driving on suspended license and having a major speeding ticket but thanks to Haydee it's like that nightmare never happened. Again, I could not be happier.

Habitual Offender
Haydee helped me defeat a case far from the norm. After speaking with other attorneys, I was under the impression that I was not going to be able to fight my case, however, Haydee took the time to look closer into my case and was able to have my driving record amended, thus, un-habitualizing me. I can only begin to say how dedicated she was to my case...working long hours, weekends, prompt responses, etc... Working with Haydee Oropesa was the best decision I could have made in my situation. Excellent lawyer, timely in responses, reasonable legal fees, definitely pleased!
Haydee Oropresa has been an absolute godsend. She assisted me with a legal matter that under normal circumstances would have taken several months to resolve due to the heavy case volume in the county where the case was being handled. Not only did she resolve the matter months ahead of schedule but she also made the process seem somewhat effortless on my part. She was professional, timely and informative in her responses but also a pleasure to speak with when I brought concerns to her in our discussions on the matter. The legal fee was reasonable and less than the other lawyers that I contacted. I wouldn't hesitate to use her services in the future and would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. No one wants to ever be in a situation where you may need an attorney, but attorney oropesa makes the situation a lot easier by having fair pricing and diligently communicating throughout the entire process. All attorneys may promise they are accessible at all times but attorney oropesa actually does it. The most valued, accurate, and accessible attorney I have ever had the pleasure of working with!
From the moment I called Oropesa Law I was directly in contact with the attorney herself. I was immediately informed on my situation and was offered a very understandable solution. The fee I was offered was more than reasonable and much lower than anyone else I called.
