Biography
I am an AV-Rated experienced appellate and post-conviction attorney handling cases in the Tampa Bay area and throughout the State of Florida. I accept appellate representation for criminal, family and dependency appeals. My background is in state and federal litigation, and I am an experienced trial attorney. I accept limited representation for trial-level ligitation in criminal defense and family law matters. I often consult with colleagues on pending trial matters, and I offer my assistance prior to and during the trial to develop trial strategy from the appellate perspective. The majority of my trial-level practice pertains to complex litigation involving the potential for direct appeals or extraordinary writs.
I have handled cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses to first-degree murder and terrorism. In addition to my practice I am a PhD candidate in criminal justice, and I have taught courses in evidence, legal research, constitutional law, criminal law and wrongful convictions at the university level. In recognizing that this area of law involves incredibly difficult challenges for clients, I offer my skill, experience, compassion and honesty.
