I am an AV-Rated experienced appellate and post-conviction attorney handling cases in the Tampa Bay area and throughout the State of Florida. I accept appellate representation for criminal, family and dependency appeals. My background is in state and federal litigation, and I am an experienced trial attorney. I accept limited representation for trial-level ligitation in criminal defense and family law matters. I often consult with colleagues on pending trial matters, and I offer my assistance prior to and during the trial to develop trial strategy from the appellate perspective. The majority of my trial-level practice pertains to complex litigation involving the potential for direct appeals or extraordinary writs.
I have handled cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses to first-degree murder and terrorism. In addition to my practice I am a PhD candidate in criminal justice, and I have taught courses in evidence, legal research, constitutional law, criminal law and wrongful convictions at the university level. In recognizing that this area of law involves incredibly difficult challenges for clients, I offer my skill, experience, compassion and honesty. Please feel free to read more about my background on my criminal appeals website, .

Mrs. Elvington is a lawyer beast!! I hired and have been working with her for 2 years now, and I couldn't ask for a more phenomenal counsel!! She don't put up with BS, for her client or herself! Compassion follows her crafted intelligence of law, and in moments that I thought I was losing it- she stu...

Locating and hiring Brooke Elvington to guide and represent me through a long term divorce proved a silver lining truly exists inside large dark clouds. My past experiences requiring legal assistance over my 68 years left me very little if any respect for the lawyers I came in contact with. Fortuna...

Attributes that someone can't truly find in an attorney is one who is determined, strong-willed, and, let's be honest... genuine. Working with Brooke is such a pleasure to work with! She has the grit to push your case through the system but also has conversations with about where your case stands wit...

I would not only recommend Brooke, rather I would strongly encourage the use of her services and representation! She has been with us through our dependency case since May, through several hearings, a trial and multiple appeals. She answers questions thoroughly and in a way that you can understand. S...
"Brooke is very knowledgeable in the area of criminal defense and appeals. Brooke helped me work with my client on a difficult 3.850 which was truly not in his best interest. It became clear that Brooke put the clients ultimate interest first, and the case was resolved without any further liability to the client. I endorse this lawyer."
"Brooke has a tremendous amount of experience with criminal appeals and is very thorough in her work. She is a vigorous advocate, and searches for every possible avenue to secure a favorable judgment for her criminal appeals clients. I recommend her to anyone looking for a professional, capable criminal appeals attorney."
"Brooke and I have worked together in the past, and she is extremely thorough in her work with a strong command of criminal law and appeals. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a qualified, experienced appellate lawyer."
"I would highly recommend Brooke Elvington for direct appeals in criminal cases and post conviction matters."
"I have worked with Brooke for several years on a variety of both criminal and appellate issues. She is knowledgeable and reliable. I highly endorse Brooke Elvington."
"I have known Ms. Elvington for the past ten years and I have nothing but good things to say about her. She is the consummate professional and her knowledge is of criminal law is unparalleled. I highly endorse this attorney."
"Why am I endorsing Brooke Elvington? Because this is the attorney you need when it comes to Criminal or Family appeals. Be it a direct appeal on a Criminal or Family matter or Post Conviction Relief, Brooke consistently impresses me with her knowledge of the law and her ability to advocate for her client. She is objective and sees the strengths and weeknesses of her case which allows her to find the best approach in obtaining a reversal on appeal. I use Brooke with great confidence for my appellate work. You would be wise to use her as well!"
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known and worked with Ms. Elvington for approximately 7 years. Ms. Elvington is an accomplished trial attorney who has devoted her practice to post conviction (appellate) matters. I am impressed with Ms. Elvington's knowledge and understanding of the most complicated areas of law, her indepth research of legal issues, her zealous representation of clients, as well as her record of positive results for her clients. For these reasons, Ms. Elvington is the person with whom I most consult regarding legal issues. In the past I have referred clients to Ms. Elvington for post conviction matters, and I will continue to do so in the future."
"Brooke and I have worked together on various matters for several years. Her skill, knowledge and personality combine together to make her an excellent attorney!"
"I met Brooke while we both worked at the Public Defender's office in Pinellas County. We both worked in the same divison for a time and I observed her to be very detailed and thorough while preparing her cases. I can honestly say that Brooke is a top notch criminal defense attorney. In fact, I consider her to be one of the best criminal defense attorneys in the area. Brooke is brilliant, hard working, ethical, and cares immensely for her clients. Brooke will fight tirelessly for the just outcome on her client's behalf. Ms. Elvington does alot of appellate work and I have read some of her legal briefs and also seen her argue in court, she is an amazing advocate. Ms. Elvington is not only an incredibly skilled attorney, but is also a wonderful human being. Anyone who has her fighting on their behalf is truly fortunate. I endorse Brooke without hestitation."
