Biography
Allyson Hughes received her law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1987. While at the University of Florida, Ms. Hughes was a Teaching Fellow for Appellate Advocacy and received the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Family Law. Ms. Hughes is board certified by the Florida Bar in Marital and Family Law, a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and practices law exclusively in that area.
Ms. Hughes maintains her office in New Port Richey, Florida and practices collaborative and traditional family law in the surrounding counties including Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough and Hernando. She was the 2007 - 2008 Chair of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. She has served as the Editor of the Florida Bar Family Law Section publication The Commentator. From 2000-2005, she was a member of Family Law Section Executive Council. In 1999-2001, she was the Chair for the Florida Bar Family Law Sections Continuing Legal Education Committee. She served as Chair of the Family Law Sections Legislative Committee during 2003-2004. Ms. Hughes also Co-Chaired the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee from 1998-2000. Ms. Hughes is past President of the West Pasco Bar Association. She was the founder and Chair of the West Pasco Family Law Committee. Ms. Hughes is a past Board member of the Tampa Bay Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is currently a member of the Florida Bar's Grievance Committee, serving as Chair.
