Exceptional Attorney...

Scott is a professional, prepared, and an effective communicator who is quickly able to discern the most significant details from irrelevant ones and work toward a favorable resolution of a case. He responded within 24 hours to my email inquiry about legal consultation and scheduled an appointment w...ithin the week. At the initial consultation he explained the anticipated process and kept me informed continuously throughout the process. My case was settled expeditiously and to my satisfaction. Thank you.

Highly Recommend

I reached out to Scott about 3 years ago when I was terminated and in my opinion wrongfully so. Scott replied to me immediately and I met with him a few days later. I went over the details of what happened and he agreed and took on my case. It was a complicated case with multiple claims involved. Sco...tt took on each claim and systematically filed and resolved each one including Unemployment benefits which had been denied to me because of termination, he won that case for me and I received unemployment benefits which I desperately needed. In addition, Scott settled my claims for overtime and wrongful termination and connected me with a lawyer who filed and won my workmans comp. case. Scott always answered questions and kept me in the loop. It was such a relief to have everything handled by Scott and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Client

Scott was very professional. He did everything he could to move the case along as quickly as possible. It was difficult being in a different state and waiting to hear any answers. He did end emails when he heard anything. I would email him and he would follow-up and get back to me with an answer.

Posted by anonymous | February 23, 2017 | Hired Attorney | Discrimination

VERY DISSATISFIED

Scott was hired on a contingency basis to handle my discrimination case.I went to him for hope and justice.I TRUSTED him but he FAILED me.I opened up to Scott about something VERY SENSITIVE regarding my personal life which I have never mentioned to anyone, not even my own MOTHER.Scott. didn't show the... ability to care or even asked me how I feel throughout the course of our business arrangement. We never had a client to lawyer conversation which i found very unprofessional and not normal.I will text Scott because I had questions about my case.He didnt text back.I will then call and leave a msg.Scott then txt me back like he has an attitude with me..saying "what do I have to talk to him about"'you have my case what else....At that point I knew he wasnt the attorney for me but I stuck it out thinking my third attorney will be my charm.A month before trail in mediation Scott said I would have to come up with hundred and thousands of dollars to perpare for trail.I looked to him and said this was agreed on a contingency and he said thats for his time only.If Scott would have told me that I would have to come up with that type of money in the beginning I would not even wasted my time nor his because I do not have disposable income....really come up with that type of money a month before trail, seemed like a joke. At,that point I had settle for a disappointing figure.I knew in my heart if my case would have went to trail i would have gotten a reasonable verdict. Also,in mediation Scott said theirs nothing for punitive damages. If thats the case why the defendant try to strike it and Judge denied it! I lost a decent amount of money because Scott failed to fight for me for whatever personal reason. He did not handle my case properly nor took it serious.Scott and the Defendant chatted like buddies. He never chatted with me....sounds like they had a relationship. Also,I was sitting waiting for Scott for mediation. He walked in the room and said Happy New Year to the Defendant and not me....very rude and I'm your client.I wanted to say something but I humbled myself and remained professional. Finally, when I picked up check it was taped to his door.WOW,I was brushed off.No hand shake, or saying good luck with yourself....Scott was nasty to me.Karma is real and I didnt deserve to be treated like I was non existent or my rights werent violated.I hope his son doesnt have to endure discrimination and go threw severe pain as I did and maybe Scott wouldnt get the opportunity to defend his own son because his life will be in someone else hands.Karma doesnt care about degrees or how much money you have!!!Moreover, you NEVER mistreat anyone children because someone will do yours the same way!

As can be seen from my other reviews I take great pride in doing a good job for my clients. Unfortunately, there are some people who have such unrealistic expectations that nothing will ever make them happy. First clue in this person's review is that I was his THIRD ATTORNEY (of course he did not tell me that or maybe that would have given me a clue about him). I aggressively litigated this case for him for almost a year in court. The problem with his case was that he had very small damages and would refuse to listen to anyone who told him that his case was not worth as much as he thought it was. At mediation I obtained a very nice settlement for him, despite that he had hardly any damages. I told him he could go to trial but it would costs him thousands of dollars in court costs and contrary to his review my fee agreement with every client provides they must pay court costs, the contingency means I am giving my time for free, not advancing court cost for clients who have unreasonable expectations. Finally, as to him getting his check, most of my clients have it mailed to them. He wanted his check in person, and I was not available to meet with him that day so I left it for him to pick up. He did not tell me he wanted to meet with me or shake my hand. Frankly, most of my clients just want to get their checks with as little delay as possible. I also had no personal relationship with the lawyer on the other side, had never even met him before this particular case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
