Relative Adoption

Barry Yablen served as the guardian ad litem for our 12 year old grandson in our relative adoption case. Our grandson required careful handling because of the trauma he had sustained as the result of his father's abandonment and serious child sexual abuse he had suffered. My Yablen was able to ...establish an excellent rapport with our grandson and ascertain the facts without adding to his trauma. He was very through in his investigation and his report to the judge was ultimately responsible for the judge severing his father's parental rights and granting our petition for adoption. He was always available to our grandson and to us and showed extraordinary sensitivity and professionalism. We will always be grateful for his efforts in our case and we would not hesitate to recommend him.

Barry Yablen is a true blessing, he is a guardian angel!!!!!

Barry Yablen is a blessing for my daughter and I. He goes above and beyond being an attorney, he is an angel in my eyes. He is very passionate about his cases and those he represents, therefore he is excellent at what he does. His dedication exceeded all my expectations. He is an attorney that truel...y CARES about his clients and their families well being. Not only is he a great person with a huge heart, but also demonstrates extraordinary proffesionalism. I always felt comfortable and confident that I needed not to worry because I was in good hands with Barry on my side. He has the human touch, and will fight until the end to seek justice in every case. It is such a blessing that he is part of our lives. Thank you Barry from the bottom of our hearts, I have no words to express my gratitude and appreciation for all that you do!!!

100% for the children

After retaining Barry, I can not express the relief I felt that my children will finally be protected and have a voice in the court system. May of 2012, my ex husband decided to take me back to court to increase visitation with my children. After discussing this with my kids and them telling me this ...is not what then wanted, I knew I had to hire a GAL. Barry interviewed the kids at both my house and their father's house. Through these visitations and numerous phone conversations, he obtained a close relationship with them. They expressed to him situations and feelings that I had no idea about. His "call me anytime" cell phone policy was used numerous times by my children when they were in situations that only Barry could help them with. Their safety was always most important to him. Safety and happiness. After months of observation and conversations, Barry's finding were not only what the children wanted but what was in their best interest. He thoroughly explained this to their father and I and now, my kids know that no matter what, they will always have a fighter in their corner, fighting for them.

BARRY HAS ALL MY RESPECT AND ADMIRATION!!!

I met Barry through a friend. My daughter had gone through an ungly divorce and the one most affected was my young grandson due the fact that his visits with his father became a problem in my grandson's mental health. Barry was my grandson's voice in the courtroom and he defended my grandson's ...rights. Barry's soft spoken attitude and his knowledge of the law gave us a positive outcome for my grandon's well being and best interest. We will always be grateful to Barry and we will always recommend him for his professional ability and for the wonderful person he is as a human being.

A Lawyer, A Professional, A Friend and a Child Advocate

There is so much to say about Barry Yablen. He is a TRUE professional and child advocate. Any court "battles" are for the benefit of the child and not for the parent. He will make certain that this child is protected and is raised to be a functional and productive adult. Barry took my case due to... post-dissolution issues that arose. Very serious issues where verbal abuse and emotional abuse were a factor by the other parent. Barry would have none of that. After tirelessly trying to make my former husband his attorney understand that this situation was about the child, the Court ruled in our favor. The Judge was always very pleased with Barry's arguments. They were valid, objective and honest. There were no sleazy tactics by Barry to obtain the result which was in my minor son's best interest. Barry was always available, day or night. He gave me his mobile phone number (which I still have until present day) and said "Call me ANYTIME with ANYTHING". Working for lawyers myself, that is something they do not do. They do not give ANY client their mobile phone number and give the client the ability to reach them at any time particularly in a moment of crisis with the other parent. There were many times when I sat in court cringing at what seemed to be Barry's non-aggressive stance. That non-aggressive stance was BRILLIANTLY effective. Barry would always tell me "Yelling and being boisterous doesn't make your stance correct it just makes you obnoxious" Sure enough, opposing counsel was reprimanded for his very unprofessional and loud behavior. Barry is a true professional. I cannot say that enough can I? Barry exemplifies fairness. I refer so many people to him and I preface the referral with "He is a very fair and objective lawyer. He will tell you like it is and will work in the best interest of your child and his or her welfare." My biggest regret is not having found Barry earlier for my actual dissolution of marriage. His professionalism and honesty would have saved me a long dragged out divorce proceeding with way too many loopholes. I consider Barry Yablen to be the best family lawyer ever. My son will be 18 this year and late last year I reached out to him and extended an invitation to my son's graduation. My son has a 4.2 GPA in high school and is a completely functional, happy and productive young man. I fear had I NOT found Barry, the results would have been devastating. Working for one of the largest firms in the world and having been in this profession for 27 years, I can confidently say he is one of if not the best lawyer I have ever personally dealt with.
