Horrible, just horrible

So, I understand there can be bad lawyers like there can be bad doctors, but I wouldn't have believed it until now. I went to Erin Krinsky under the referral of Michael Cohen (whom I contacted originally for legal assistance). My case was very straightforward, but if any time she felt that she couldn...'t help me, she should have informed me. She was extremely responsive until she got my money. Once she got my money, she was increasingly more difficult to reach. I had to seek her out for updates and there were a few times where I had to contact Michael Cohen, the lawyer who referred me to her, to find her. She always had excuses. When we finally had our court date, she showed up disheveled and very unprofessional appearing. The opposing council asked for a continuance and she obliged, we had not discussed it at all. She stated if he asked again, she would say no. For our 2nd court date, I was on my way, and I text her to confirm the location. While en route, she said I didn't have to show up. I believed her because....why wouldn't I? Weeks later, still no reaponse from her. So I took it upon myself to go searching on the Magistrate website. It said that I was a "no show" and the case was closed. When I called the court to clarify, they said, "Why would your lawyer tell you that? That was horrible advice." When I finally got ahold of Erin, she said that is not what the judge told her and that she was waiting to hear back. The court's server was hacked I believe, shortly after that. She responded 2 times over several months and multiple requests for updates. I most recently went online about 1 month ago....Servers were back up, case is still closed and to this day I have not heard back from her despite several attempts. Outside of maybe an occasional disgruntled food service worker, I have NEVER seen this level of unprofessionalism, and it is nauseating to me that people like this are allowed to practice law. Thank God, my freedom wasn't in her hands.

I just feel disheartened

All I wanted was a yes or no response as to whether I would get any of the money back from the $500 fee I paid Erin after deciding against moving forward with filing. I knew that I wouldn’t get all the money back but I wasn’t sure if I would get partial back depending on how much she had worked on. I... understand I signed the fee agreement but it literally says in there that I may get SOME money back depending on how much work has been done. As soon as I gave her the money, she stopped communicating with me. I had to reach out to her to see what was going on. The one time she replied it was 2 days later and she didn’t even respond with a full sentence. Just said “sorry - was tied up”. And I stupidly gave her grace because I’ve never been through having to sue someone. I found out about Erin through Emily Strongwater who who was my lawyer when I was wrongfully arrested during curfew last year. (I have no criminal record whatsoever. Not even petty crimes). Emily was extremely communicative and compassionate about helping me and finding resolve. So when she recommended Erin, I assumed I was in good hands which was my fault. I didn’t do my due diligence and research Erin on my own when I should have. I asked/begged Erin multiple times via text and she never once replied. She was more helpful when I hadn’t paid her but now I’m not sure if I was just too naive to realize maybe that’s a tactic to get the money. Anyways, I’m too depleted after everything I’ve been through. I just gave up on messaging her because it’s obvious she does feel I’m worthy of a reply back. I messaged her on July 13th, 14th, and 15th and STILL nothing to this very moment. The messages were not aggressive or inappropriate. They were sent at acceptable hours of the day. And only one text was sent per day. It’s humiliating and just disheartening having to beg for just a response and getting nothing during a time of such anguish. Either way, it’s been 10 days. I’d like to move on so I wrote this review in hopes to I guess emotionally close out this nightmare chapter in my life. The last thing I wanted during this painful and exhausting time was to feel like I’m unworthy of a simply reply back.

Very Professional and Excellent Lawyer

Erin Krinsky is an excellent attorney. She is very personable, professional and did a great job! I had an outstanding case from years back that caught me by surprise and Ms. Krinsky handled my case wonderfully. I was unsure, overwhelmed and intimidated by the case if I didn’t have such an excellent a...ttorney on my side. The best part is, she had the fines dropped which saved me hundreds of dollars. I will always come to her in the future with any legal matters.
