Biography
My criminal defense trial practice focuses on alcohol and DRUG offenses, such as driving under the influence (DUI), VGCSA (drug possession), vehicular homicide, and serious traffic violation cases, as well as probation, expungement and parole issues.
I also represent clients in civil litigation cases such as personal injury, defective products, municipality and civil rights liability cases, car, truck and motorcycle accidents, and medical malpractice suits.
Before and during law school, I was a police officer, police trainer and accident investigation specialist. During my time as a police officer, I worked for the City of Roswell Police Department as well as the Cobb County Police Department. I made over 1000 DUI arrests.
As a police officer, I received special training in DUI Detection, the Intoxylizer 5000, and Fatality Traffic Collision investigations. I was involved with criminal, DUI, and traffic cases. I was also responsible for training of police recruits.
I am certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to teach law enforcement agents how to conduct field sobriety tests. This certification and my nine years as a police officer give me unique insight into police procedures, and this extensive knowledge is beneficial to my clients. I am also a (NHTSA) trained Standardized Field Sobriety Practioner and a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD).
