Lawyer review
Ms. Smith represented me during a divorce case. It was a long stressful and drawn out case. Your hard work, guidance, and support is very appreciated. Your professional support was great. I was happy with the outcome of my case. Thank you for your representation.

She was there when I had no one else
I hired Loretta help me retain a TPO. I was fairly new to the state of Georgia with no emotional support, guidance, or understanding of what had just happened to me. Loretta took the time to walk me through each step and was patient to just listen at times. Loretta made me feel safe and calm when it was time to go to court, two separate times. Loretta was able to get a 1 year and then 3 year TPO to keep, and help me feel safe moving forward. I unfortunately had a friend who experienced the same issue and referred her to Loretta and she had the same experience as I did.

A Fabulous Attorney as well as wonderful human being.
I retained Loretta last Spring after I filed for legitimation for my daughter since her mother wouldn't let her have regular visitation with me despite the wishes of our child. I filed as a pro-se plaintiff so the mother responded by retaining an attorney and made a counterclaim for me to pay child support while having the least amount of time possible with my daughter and no rights to her at all. I was very nervous as I didn't expect her to go this far out of her way to keep me from my child. After some searching I found Loretta and consulted with her. She agreed to represent me so I retained her. This was the start of a custody battle that lasted a little over a year. I had many nights where I was angry and confused, crying myself to sleep wondering if my daughter would ever know how much I cared about her. Loretta gave me confidence and assurance that everything would be OK. After a year she won me parental rights, joint legal custody and regular visitation of my daughter when we finally came a final order. Loretta always responded to my questions, gave me great advice yet always laid out my options even if they wouldn't work in my favor. Was it all worth it? Absolutely! The smiles I would receive when my daughter and I would spend time together going the GA Aquarium, riding scooters on the Belt Line, having dinner while watching Shakespeare plays at the Shakespeare Tavern, enjoying Medieval times, going ice skating in Atlantic Station and going to Atlanta Braves games and more definitely made it worth my while to retain this attorney and fight for my little girl. So with that said, I'll forever be thankful for what you did for me and my family Loretta. If you're in a Family Law case and actually would like to win then please retain this attorney. You will be very glad you did.

She is amazing!! She knows the law and she’s very honest! Don’t think she’s going to represent you if you’re a liar and you are doing wrong. I won my case because of her smarts. She got my ex narcissist to expose himself in court. She asked the right questions and that enraged him. She knows the law through and through. She’s highly ethical and pretty amazing!

Excellent, professional, great listener and very wise attorney
I cannot believe I haven’t written a review yet. Ms Loretta has helped me with several cases. She doesn’t lose her cool. She has great experience and effective strategies against malicious narcissistic certifiably crazy spouses in cases of divorce and child custody. You will have to listen to her and let her guide you. Do not play smart and do something she doesn’t recommend. She plays chess not checkers. She is always looking out for your best interest and doesn’t forget details. She tries to save you money.

Great correspondence
I reached out to Lisa to represent me in my custody case. I was very pleased with the professionalism and promptness of her response. The only reason I didn't hire her is due to a scheduling conflict with my court date and her calendar. I would definitely recommend her. I was impressed with her response time.

Excellent
Loretta is a great lady and attorney. She listens and gives great advise. She returns all calls or email, usually the same day if she doesn't answer actually the phone herself. She tells you exactly what you need to do and makes you feel at ease with the situation. She is kind, understanding and I would hire her again and advise anyone to do the same. Thanks Loretta.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND, Very thorough, Professional and very informative
I retained the services of Ms Smith after receiving unfavorably results in the outcome of my divorce. With Ms. Smiths counsel and experience, my ex wife and I were able to amend divorce decree, and agree to a more fair and equitable settlement involving marital property and child visitation. THANK YOU for everything!!!

Absolutely Great !!!!!
Attorney Loretta Ann Smith is absolutely great, we only had a phone conversation that was very informative. She gave me helpful information that many Attorneys did not when I called them. I was only able to speak with people that did a In Take questionnaire or the receptionist and my calls went no further than that. But when I called Attorney Smith , shockingly she answer's her own calls. I was ready to talk to what I thought was her receptionist . So I totally appreciate the phone call. And If I need you for the Appeal I'm calling you A.S.A.P !!!! You really put me at ease with my situation Thank you so much.

Excellent
Excellent work from Ms. Smith. I called her office seeking legal counsel for a TPO hearing that was taking place in a matter of days. She returned my call the same day, listened to my situation, and a reasonable quote for her services. I was given great advice on what to bring with me to our meeting (and court) and realistic expectations. She negotiated an agreement with opposing counsel that was in my favor. I would definitely recommend Loretta Smith Attorney at Law.

Excellent support during mediation proceedings
Fantastic experience with Mrs. Smith. Was up front about the different directions my case could go. Was by my side during mediation and brought up points, and scenarios I did not think of as mediation progressed. I wanted a specific outcome and Ms. Smith brought up points during mediation that helped me gain the outcome I desired. I highly advise any person that needs protection during any type of custody case to inquire about Mrs. Smith's services.

Very nice but dropped the ball
I hired Loretta to represent me in a contempt case involving my retirement we could have solved the issue before going to court but she was no match for the ex wife and lost so bad in court and I had to pay ex-wife lawyer, Loretta felt so bad for me she offered to represent me without pay, but we never could get ex wife served for one, but I was up against the clock regarding foreclosure on the property ex wife was in contempt for not paying mortgage. I wanted to go before the judge to make argument to get the house back in order to save it for my children so the date to see the judge finally came and all of us were there me the judge and ex wife, but there was no Loretta the judge wouldn’t even listen to my argument because I was represented by Loretta needless to say we lost the House. I contemplated filling complaint with bar, but that would not have helped me and only hurt Loretta, and because she was very nice and polite throughout he process that goes a long way with me. But I wanted an aggressive hungry lawyer to fight my ex wife and she was no match it was like a kitten vs a mountain lion.

Response from Loretta Smith January 23, 2020
Keith, I hate the outcome of your contempt case, but you had painted yourself into a corner that no one could get you out of. The motion for contempt was filed alleging you refused to sign a QDRO as directed in your divorce. Based on your account of the story, I went to court fully prepared to argue that you had not refused to sign but had simply needed additional information to understand the document prior to signing. When your ex-Wife's attorney produced another very respected attorney (who had drafted the QDRO) as a witness, and he testified to the volume and the very foul language you used in announcing in his office in no uncertain terms that you would not sign the QDRO, a siber tooth tiger could not have saved you from a finding of contempt. When there is willful contempt, the court almost always orders the party in contempt to pay for the other party's attorney fees. With your agreement, your wife got the house in the divorce. I did not represent you in that action. I told you repeatedly that by law the court could not change the disposition of assets in a contempt action but you insisted on filing that motion anyway. I went to great effort and expense to get your ex served but she evaded the sheriff's office, and you could never give me a specific time and place where she would be to send a private process server. If we had had a hearing, the court may have found her in contempt for failing to pay the mortgage, but I am certain that particular judge would not have ordered her to give the house back to you even to save it for your children.

Employment & Labor advice session
Lawyer failed to advise on harassment, picking, etc. Her advise actually left me with more questions than I had prior to contacting her.
Response from Loretta Smith May 26, 2016
Unfortunately, this review gives no clue as the to the identity of the caller or the nature of the issue. I can say for certain it is not a person who hired me. I cannot always give people the news they want to hear. Many actions that individuals consider to be "harassment" do not violate any employment law in the State of Georgia. If I think you have a cause of action to sue, I will tell you. However, if I don't think you have a cause of action under the applicable laws, I have to give you that information as well. Any time you have more questions, just ask.
