My wife and I were involved in an accident on May 1, 2012. We were not at fault. I contacted my insurance company for assistance and information. The only assistance and information I received was that since another Insurance Company was involved that they could do "nothing" and that I have to deal w...ith the other company. We had large Dr. bills because there was serious injuries and operation from the injury. We had med pay on our policy. I researched and found that I felt that this was available to help in situations like this. Was told that it did not apply and that if it was used that my premiums would go up if I filed a claim and the they would subrogate the payments to recollect the monies if I filed for them. I contacted my insurance company and requested a "complete" copy of my policy so I could see if that indeed did apply. I was told that they could not supply this. I filed the claim and received a call from the insurance adjuster who told me I did not have a valid claim. I filed the claim anyway. I receive a call from my insurance company again denying that they were responsible for the pay out. I called Lakota and relayed this to him. He requested that I send him a copy of my insurance policy and that he would "personally" contact the agents. While I was scanning in the information I received a call from the Insurance Claims Agent that said that we would be paid and that they would honor the contract per N.C. law. I called Lakota to let him know and found out that he had made a call to them. Haven't received the check yet but I fully expect to. Lakota told me if I did not to call him and he would pursue this because "Yes" they owed us the payout.
