Mr.Roberts was a great attorney to work with. From the start he was confident and transparent with us. He told us he had other strategies as back up in case his main one didn't go as planned. That showed us that he was prepared for any obstacle that was coming his way. We went to the first court hear...

Have you ever found yourself in a situation and didn’t know who to turn to? That was us when our young adult got into legal trouble for the first time in his life. As parents, we were overwhelmed and scared. We prayed for an experienced criminal defense attorney who would be honest, direct, yet com...

I was lost, frustrated, and scared after my arrest. I was falsely accused of first degree rape. After speaking with Patrick I was put at ease. He asked questions, was engaged, and very straight to the point. Some of the questions he asked, and points he made no other lawyer I had spoken to thought of...

I recently hired A. Patrick Roberts as my lawyer, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of my case. He represented me in a domestic violence accusation, and thanks to his exceptional skills, my case was dismissed. From our first meeting, Patrick impressed me with his thorough understandi...
"Patrick is one of the best defense attorneys in the area. He works very hard for his clients and he gets fantastic results."
"I endorse this lawyer. Patrick is a great trial lawyer and a person who I go to for legal advice in my own practice. Patrick is dedicated to his client's and a master at criminal defense. I would not hesitate to hire him if I was in trouble and needed a lawyer."
"One hell of a criminal defense attorney. Patrick has the intellect, experience, and aggressive attitude required to excel in the most complex and challenging areas of criminal defense practice."
"I have known Patrick for years and have always been struck by his knowledge and dedication. I endorse him without hesitation or qualification."
"Patrick is a thoughtful and experienced attorney. When I have a client needing representation in the Raleigh area in his areas of practice, he would be my referral of choice."
"Patrick Roberts is a fierce advocate on behalf of his clients. He and lawyers at his firm are excellent criminal defense lawyers who work hard to aggressively defend their clients. Patrick Roberts also has an excellent command of many of the technical issues - lacking among fellow lawyers - that are implicated in cases involving technology, forensic science and the like. I've watched him dissect hostile witnesses on the stand, and argue for excellent outcomes for his clients."
"I attended the Trial Lawyers College with Patrick. If I was facing serious criminal charges anywhere in North Carolina, he would be my first call."
"Working for Mr. Roberts has been a great experience. His background and experience have provided me with a wealth of knowledge and a great model for representing clients. I endorse him wholeheartedly."
"I endorse this lawyer without reservation. Patrick is plain outstanding. The highest remark I can give a lawyer is that I would ask him to represent me were I charged with a crime. I would ask Patrick and know that I would be in the very best of hands."
"I knew Patrick when he was an assistant Distrit Attorney, and was also impressed with his high ethical standards, and his reasoned and expereinced approcah in handling his cases. He is an exemplary attorney and I highly reccomend him."
"I endorse this lawyer. Patrick is a fantastic attorney who is dedicated to his clients' interests and truly cares for his clients. He has the experience and trial skills necessary to achieve the results his clients need. I recommend anybody in need of a criminal defense attorney use him."
"I've learned a lot from working with Patrick Roberts. He's an aggressive, tireless advocate for his clients. As a former prosecutor, he has an extensive insight into the workings of the criminal justice system. Highly recommended."
"Patrick Roberts is undoubtedly one of the best attorney advocates in the Triangle area. His experience as a former prosecutor is invaluable to any client seeking an attorney who knows the ropes. His honesty, integrity, and straightforwardness are qualities every client should seek in an attorney. I would, without hesitation, strongly recommend Mr. Roberts to anyone seeking an outstanding criminal defense lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. I have known A. Patrick Roberts for 5 years. He has always been very professional and very highly regarded in the criminal defense community. I have gotten to know Patrick over the years and come to highly respect him as a friend and an attorney."
"I have had the challenge of working with Atty Roberts when he served as Asst. District Atty in Wake Co. and have worked closely with him as fellow defense counsel. As an ADA, I found him to be professional, reasonable and fair in every regard. He represented the State of North Carolina with integrity. As private counsel, his intelligence and knowledge of procedure and law has been even more impressive. Attorney Roberts is not your "run of the mill" lawyer. While he's sharp and knows his stuff, he is also approachable and relates well with clients, colleagues, judges and courthouse personnel. He never, never walks away from a challenge. In the courtroom, his experience as both prosecutor and criminal defense attorney provides him with a unique perspective and ability to process each matter he handles quickly, efficiently and effectively. I highly recommend Attorney Roberts and place full confidence in his abilities."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. I have worked with Mr. Roberts as co-counsel on a number of state and federal criminal cases over the past ten months (since the summer of 2008) and I am very impressed with his legal acumen, his dedication to his clients and their cases, and his attention to detail. He is one of the best up and coming criminal defense lawyers in the Raleigh/Triangle community. I have practiced law as a trial attorney for more than 20 years and I have worked with and supervised thousands of attorneys. I can confidently state that he is in the top 5% of criminal defense lawyers I have known."

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2019.
Reprimand issued in NC, 2019
updated on 08/14/2019Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
“This bar discipline resulted from a federal trademark fraud case I resolved in 2014. In 2019, the North Carolina State Bar reprimanded me for failing to consult with an attorney experienced in federal asset forfeiture before discussing a plea agreement with my client and for failing to use a Mandarin interpreter when discussing that same plea agreement with the same client. I no longer handle federal criminal cases.”
