I was traveling in a rental van with co-workers up I-77, following the flow of traffic. We hit a speed trap in VA where several troopers pulled over 2 cars a piece serving speeding tickets. I was not the fastest car in the pack but received a ticket going 88 in a 65; 23 over the limit. I live in NC s...o I needed a VA attorney to represent me ASAP, I called multiple firms based on online reviews. Some attorneys wanted $900, while some wanted $300. None of them could guarantee me defective equipment (no points) but could guarantee me improper driving (3-points). Their advice was very vague while they didn't really make me feel confident with my case. The $900 attorney did bring me some confidence but $900 + the court fee seemed a bit steep. Then I talk to Joel S Jackson's firm, who were in the middle price range of $500. They too could not guarantee me defective equipment but they gave me a ton of advice as to how to sway the judge in our favor towards possibly getting the 0 point outcome. I spoke to Sean on the phone several times. He coached me through the process and made me feel very confident. He gave me both best and worst case scenarios with the range of fines. He then recommend I take an 8 hour (in class) driver improvement course through AAA and write a letter to the judge. He also said to show documentation of my clean driving record. I gathered/produced all these documents fairly quickly, but Sean was more than happy to give me more time and push my court date back. He also spoke about the judge in the particular county my case was in and his history with cases like mine. For this court house he thought we had a good chance. Needless to say I talk to Sean the afternoon of my case when he told me I had received defective equipment with a $300 fine which was the cheapest possibly outcome he talked about before the case. In all it was $800 but I still have a clean driving record, and will never speed through VA again. I highly recommend Joel S Jackson for any traffic violation in the state of VA.
