Reckless driving. The hard part here for me was it was my daughter. And, she didn't tell me about the ticket (21mph over the limit) for two weeks after getting it. We were under somewhat of a time constraint. When I first contacted Mr. Jackson's office, he called me back and was very personable a...nd business-minded. He told me his goal would be to get my case reduced. I know these things are never guaranteed and he told me that this isn’t a sure thing but that was his goal. I’m so happy that Mr.Jackson did get my daughter's case reduced from reckless driving to defective equipment. He and his office staff (Emily) were always helpful and responsive to all my questions. Joel got me off rape charges and had my case dismissed without taking any plea agreement or without any repercussions. If you are a VT student he knows the student conduct system very well. I live in New Jersey and got a reckless driving ticket in Virginia for doing 83 on a 70mph open road. The day before my court date I looked into the penalties for this kind of ticket, and was strongly advised to hire an attorney, as Virginia traffic penalties are extremely dire. It was the 11th ...hour and no one was able to take my case, so I was ready to make the drive from New Jersey to Virginia for my appearance the following morning. This gave me enough time (several months) to take a defensive driving course and get my driving record from the dmv as he advised me to do. As a person that needs to drive a van full of children, Mr. Jackson was able to have a favorable outcome for me. My Reckless Driving charge was reduced to a charge of Improper Driving. This is a 3 demerit point violation, not a 6 demerit point CRIMINAL misdemeanor conviction. I am extremely happy t...hat I don't have that criminal misdemeanor!!
