Joel Stephen Jackson

Our son was driving home from college due to an evacuation during hurricane Irma in September, 2017, when he was stopped in Virginia for speeding. Since it was over 80 mph, it was a reckless driving charge, and I called Joel Jackson to discuss our options. He returned my call within half an hour, ...was extremely professional, and he clearly explained the possible outcomes if we did not hire him, and what he thought he could do for our son if we did hire him. We did not want to take a chance on the reckless driving charge sticking, and the resulting increased insurance rates, and possibility of our son losing his license, so we hired Attorney Jackson. He went to court for us (our son's college was 4 hours away, so it was much easier for him not to have to show up in court), and the outcome was better than we had hoped for. Joel Jackson got the charge reduced to an "operating faulty equipment" charge, so there were no criminal charges, no moving violation charges, no points on his license, just a fine for less than $300 to pay. He informed us of the outcome immediately after court. We really appreciated Joel Jackson's honesty and professionalism, and would not hesitate to hire him again if needed. We highly recommend him!

Reckless driving. The hard part here for me was it was my daughter. And, she didn't tell me about the ticket (21mph over the limit) for two weeks after getting it. We were under somewhat of a time constraint. When I first contacted Mr. Jackson's office, he called me back and was very personable a...nd business-minded. He told me his goal would be to get my case reduced. I know these things are never guaranteed and he told me that this isn’t a sure thing but that was his goal. I’m so happy that Mr.Jackson did get my daughter's case reduced from reckless driving to defective equipment. He and his office staff (Emily) were always helpful and responsive to all my questions. I hired Joel Jackson after receiving a speeding ticket for reckless driving in Virginia, after calling a handful of lawyers in the area. One thing I really appreciated about Mr. Jackson was that he didn't try to scare me about the possible worst case scenario outcomes of the charge as many others did..., I assume trying to justify their incredibly high prices. Joel was honest and very helpful, guiding me through the recommended steps I needed to take (e.g., taking a drivers improvement course) before my court date. The outcome was that the ticket was dismissed.

I was travelling through Virginia on my way to a family vacation. I was pulled over on Interstate 81 for speeding and given a ticket.
