I had initiated a custody hearing initially without legal consult, only to find the responding party brought not just their own attorney, but a highly experienced, well paid attorney. I was in over my head, way over, and aware that finding the right attorney was critical to ensuring my interests ...would have any in final outcome. I made an extensive list of lawyers, compiled reviews from multiple sources, and trimmed my list down to a top handful for Custody/Visitation disputes in Fairfax. Larry had quickly become the front runner, but I remained skeptical until I spoke individually with each lawyer. Larry's approach was not just confident, but felt sincere and was refreshingly void of any sense of eagerness. He offered a consultation, and was clear that he would evaluate the merit of taking the case. This earnest, purposeful approach was not just striking, but came off as evidence of his experience in custody cases. In the end, there was no one left to compare him to. Leading up to the trial, his communication was distinctly concise and response, while remaining informative and effective. It was also nice to find he was careful in applying his time, always purposeful and effective. His work is that of a true professional. He was also clear on the input needed from me, and was responsive to various communications from the other party’s attorney. I felt aware of where we were, what had been done, and confident he was in control of my case. All this, however, paled to actual hearing where Larry’s preparation and experience proved decisive, both in bringing the outcome to a win, but even in the surprising aftermath when the opposing party took steps to prolong and complicate the final decision well past the hearing date. Larry had clearly taken steps to prepare for such retaliatory measures, and I was amazed to see how effectively he managed to dismantle what could have easily been utter chaos as additional lawyers and petitions were brought to sway the favor. They presented a maelstrom of legal obstacles while Larry simply took a separate path, free from these obstacles. It is impossible to express my gratitude for Larry Bowen and his team. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone in need of a proven, effective custody attorney. He is the simply the best, and for any future custody/visitation conflicts, I will be seeking his services again without hesitation.

With 2 years remaining on my spousal support agreement I found myself as a defendant in a spousal support reduction/termination case. My ex husband claimed his health had deteriorated forcing him to retire sooner than the date he anticipated at the time the agreement was executed. Larry was extreme...ly accessible and responsive. He kept me updated on his correspondence with the plaintiff's attorney. He explained the proposed settlement offer in detail to myself and on a 3 way call with my financial planner. We decided to go to court. Larry was by far the superior attorney, attentively listening and cross examining the plaintiff's witnesses. He was an impressive presence in the courtroom. Needless to say we won the case.

We have found Mr. Bowen to be pleasant to work with and talk with, straight forward with his advice, and responsive to our questions. He was sensitive to our needs, and while providing advice and guidance, was not pushy at all as to which way we should go. While the costs for attorney services are ...always high, we didn’t feel like Mr. Bowen was ever trying to run costs up…actually the contrary in many aspects.
