also known as OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer, OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer
I am an OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer and have been practicing Federal Disability Retirement Law for over 25+ years.
Federal Disability Retirement, under FERS or CSRS, is a “paper presentation” to the U.S. Officer of Personnel Management. If it is denied twice — both at the Initial Stage of the process as well as at the Second, Reconsideration Stage — then an appeal can be filed with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. To be successful in geting disability retirement benefits at any of the 3 stages, it is important to consult with an OPM Federal Disability Retirement Lawyer to optimize your chances of success.
As an OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer, I believe that my educational background and experience makes me uniquely qualified in this field, and that is why I enjoy a high rate of success in getting my clients approved — at all three stages of the process.
I charge a “flat fee” — a 1-time fee not based upon an hourly rate. I decided years ago that I was not going to “nickle-and-dime” my clients, and that my clients were going to know up front what I charge.
I earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America and graduated at the top of my class, summa cum laude. I then went on to do graduate work at the University of Virginia, and completed all course work for a Masters in Philosophy. Thereafter, I went to Law School and graduated from the Columbus School of Law, earning my Juris Doctor Degree.
My background and training in logic, analytical thought, writing technical philosophical treatises, and earning further training in the Law has prepared me to practice Administrative Law, where the majority of legal argumentation is through paper submissions and transactions. Persuasive argumentation, logical delineation and legal analysis are the tools for a successful outcome in representing Federal and Postal workers to obtain their Federal Disability Retirement benefits.
It is a passion of mine, and my clients will attest to the thoroughness of my work.

Mr. McGill went beyond the call of duty to fight for me. He was upfront about how the process works and the steps he would take . I was initially denied when I contacted Mr. McGill. He explained that he would put in for the reconsideration and the time frame he would do so. He also looked at all my e...

While working for the federal government my disabilities had me down on my knees, both mentally and physically with no light in sight for a future I had the most passion for in my entire life. If you want the best, work with Robert R. McGill - FERS Disability Lawyer
Mr. McGill worked my complicated FERS disability case in less than a year. This was one of the most stressful and ever-changing periods in my personal and professional life. Robert worked tirelessly with me, my doctors and my agency points of contact (e.g. supervisors) to build my case. Robert's no-...

Great Lawyer!
After being disappointed by more than one lawyer, I can’t emphasize enough how hard it is to find a good lawyer. Mr McGill handled my disability retirement case and achieved the outcome I was looking for. His responsiveness, determination and hard work was ideal to resolve the matter quickly. I h...

FERS Disability
Mr. McGill filed my appeal with OPM and with MSPB. I did not have support from my physician but did have doctors records and info from my job. Mr. McGill took all my info and worked it into a legally defensible position. I would recommend him for anyone who is needing a FERS disability retirement.
