also known as OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer, OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer
I am an OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer and have been practicing Federal Disability Retirement Law for over 25+ years.
Federal Disability Retirement, under FERS or CSRS, is a “paper presentation” to the U.S. Officer of Personnel Management. If it is denied twice — both at the Initial Stage of the process as well as at the Second, Reconsideration Stage — then an appeal can be filed with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. To be successful in geting disability retirement benefits at any of the 3 stages, it is important to consult with an OPM Federal Disability Retirement Lawyer to optimize your chances of success.
As an OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer, I believe that my educational background and experience makes me uniquely qualified in this field, and that is why I enjoy a high rate of success in getting my clients approved — at all three stages of the process.
I charge a “flat fee” — a 1-time fee not based upon an hourly rate. I decided years ago that I was not going to “nickle-and-dime” my clients, and that my clients were going to know up front what I charge.
I earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America and graduated at the top of my class, summa cum laude. I then went on to do graduate work at the University of Virginia, and completed all course work for a Masters in Philosophy. Thereafter, I went to Law School and graduated from the Columbus School of Law, earning my Juris Doctor Degree.
My background and training in logic, analytical thought, writing technical philosophical treatises, and earning further training in the Law has prepared me to practice Administrative Law, where the majority of legal argumentation is through paper submissions and transactions. Persuasive argumentation, logical delineation and legal analysis are the tools for a successful outcome in representing Federal and Postal workers to obtain their Federal Disability Retirement benefits.
It is a passion of mine, and my clients will attest to the thoroughness of my work.

People He answers his phone
Don’t hesitate in hiring Mr McGill! At the end of a long stressful journey at my end of hope, I research and called him. People he answered his phone. In less than 2months the denial was reversed to approved. I CAN NOT express my gratitude enough. He gets it done.

Great Customer Service
Attorney McGill was a blessing to me. I was real skeptical at first about hiring him for the simple reason I was not in a location where I could talk face to face and that's the norm for me. I came to the conclusion if he was bold enough do do a posting on Worker's Comp web site and after reading rev...

OPM Disability Retirement Approved!
I contacted Mr. McGill after an injury that affected me being able to perform my job functions. Mr. McGill, walked me through the process and helped me file my paperwork; the process from beginning to approval was 590 days. I can't thank him enough for his experience and guidance throughout the who...

Peace of mind!
I was injured at work in October 2016. I’ve been on OWCP since then. As Mr. McGill has suggested in many of his articles, OWCP WILL try to take this away from federal employees at some point. It is happening to me now. Had I not applied for OPM disability retirement and won it, I would be “losing it”...

A man of his word!
I was in a bad situation. I injured myself while on-the-job. My employer was asking me to resign or be fired. In desperation I sought legal counsel. After months of bs I had the great fortune of locating Attorney Robert R. McGill. I reached out to Mr. McGill for help and he was there. No nonsense! He...
