Biography
Mr. Milanes has built a solid reputation for outstanding legal work and inspirational management and mediation skills. Throughout his twelve year career with the United States Department of Justice, during which time he held several positions ranging from Federal Prosecutor to trainer for the Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training Office, Mr. Milanes appeared as lead counsel in several hundred cases, successfully trying several. He spent years working in various capacities in both the Washington, D.C. metro area and San Juan districts and, in addition to having significant legal connections and being a well-respected litigator in both jurisdictions, has vast knowledge of those venues, including the judges and jurors before which he practices. Mr. Milanes has carried over his experiences and successes as a public servant into the private sector, wherein he has applied his considerable problem solving, litigation and courtroom experience in the representation of corporations and individuals.
In 1988, Mr. Milanes obtained his Bachelor's in International Studies from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Houston, Texas. In 1991, he graduated with distinction from the Washington College of Law at The American University, Washington, DC.
He is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is also licensed to practice in various federal courts including the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and U.S. District Courts for the District of Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Eastern District of Virginia and Southern District of Texas.
He is admitted to the United States Bankruptcy Courts for District of Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Eastern District of Virginia and Southern District of Texas. In addition, he is admitted to the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the First Circuit and Fourth Circuits.

excellent legal firm
They helped me with all my bankrupcy process timely and profesionally. They also supported me by providing with legal adviced as we ell as how to deal with collectors and my debts. Overall I sm very pleased with this firm's service and I would definetely recommend it.

Excellent Bankruptcy Attorney
Both my ex-wife and I had to file bankruptcy since we still owned joint property that had not been separated with the divorce.
