Highly Recommended Cream Of The Crop

Laura is extremely knowledgeable and answered every question I had concerning my case no matter how dumb or insignificant I thought it was. She responds promptly even though she has many other cases she's working on. Honestly she treated me as a friend and not like a client. Her prices are extremely ...reasonable. I shopped around for family court lawyers and they wanted triple the price of her retainer fee. She was Highly recommended from other lawyers that were not available to take my case. I was not paid for this review or have any other incentives to write this review. I Honestly want any potential clients who wants a caring, competent, reasonably priced lawyer to know she is the cream of the crop. If I could give her one hundred stars I would!!!!!

Family Court

Laura represented me years ago. My sons mother could be summed up in one word. Evil. Laura helped my son and I when I had no hope. I am forever grateful, and recommend her regarding family court issues any chance I get. Thank you Laura!

I retained Laura to assist with a complicated multi-state PFA and Custody Hearing. Laura is an excellent attorney who is very competent and compassionate. As with most Family Court matters the issues surrounding my case are/were sensitive and very emotional. While the custody matter is scheduled fo...r mid April, Laura worked with co-counsel in NY to successfully petition the NY Family Court to order the custody matter be heard in Delaware. Laura was also successful in arguing for the dismissal of a PFA filed in Delaware. I would highly recommend Laura as she is a thorough communicator, attentive listener and superior legal strategist. Laura is honest, responsive and after every interaction I am left feeling that Laura genuinely cares about me as a person and parent. Throughout what has felt like the "fight of my life", Laura has remained focused, positive and incredibly supportive. Having held several positions in the Family Court prior to being admitted to the Delaware Bar, Laura has develop lasting and mutually respectful relationships with seemingly everyone in Family Court. I highly recommend Laura!!!

Terrible Lawyer

If you don't have the time or money to waste than I highly recommend not picking Laura Brooks as your legal counsel. She was recommended as being the best. Maybe she was years ago but not now. She don't like to meet in person or talk on the phone. She don't keep you updated on your case unless you ...reach out to her. She file motions late which gives the judge reason to deny them. She's too impersonal instead of being professional when needing to be. She with drew from my case a day before trial due to her "not liking to be questioned about not informing me in a timely manner." She's being paid to work for me and my children best interest. This left me with a lot of adding on stress, time and money wasted, disappointment and confusion. She showed up to trial to only make sure the judge granted her motion to withdrawal. She left my file, which I notice some of my exhibits that was suppose to be presented during trial was missing. Also she charge me for coming to court the day of trial and a couple of other things that she shouldn't gotten paid for. She's a joke! Laura was my first family court lawyer and she was the worst pick ever!! I know what to look for in my next legal counsel and it won't be someone like Laura Brooks.

I am very sorry you felt that way about my representation. I continually provided you with honest and professional representation. Unfortunately, it was clear we did not have the relationship needed between a client and attorney and needed to part ways so that you could find the attorney who could meet your demands. I freely gave you your entire file and all exhibits so that your next attorney would not need to waste time catching up. Again, I am sorry you felt the way you did but I wish you and the kids the best in the future.

HORRIBLE LAWYER!!!

I hired Laura to represent me on my child custody case. I was referred to her by the DE Family Court. I had a consultation with her and she appeared to be caring and I thought she would be the right one to help me but I was wrong. After I made the first payment, she never returned my calls or emails.... I always had to follow up twice with her. We had a meeting scheduled (which I took off of work to attend) and she never even called to cancel or rescheduled. She sent me a sorry text message stating that she had an emergency. If she had an emergency hearing, why didn't she call me when she found out? I was waiting to hear from her and she never reached out to me to let me know that she needed to reschedule. Either she's unorganized or cares nothing about my case. Both is a RED flag!!! That was the 1st time she cancelled. I sent her emails and she would take days to follow up. I always had to send another message to get a response. She also told me that she didn't need to attend the mediation. Horrible advice!! Once I found another attorney, he told me that she attended a mediation for another client. smh... After 2 months of no returned calls, no response to my emails, cancelled appointments, no updates and no guidance or help with my case, I decided to let her go. I sent her an email requesting a refund and she sent me a letter with a bunch of charges to zero out the balance. She charged me $75 for every email I sent to her and $75 for every email she answered. I was blown away. Enclosing, when you are going thru difficult times, you need a lawyer that will stick by you. Its bad enough that you are going thru emotionally and financially, why add to your pain? I would not advise that you hire this lawyer and I took the time to write this to let you know because I care. Everyone has their own experiences and yours might be different but why choose someone that would do this to another person, when they are going thru rough times.

With such an anonymous post it’s hard to respond in any detail. I will say that I’m very sorry you feel I did not represent you to the fullest. I pride myself on truly caring about my clients and each case. If I let you down, I apologize.
