“Your case is far from the norm”. For years, this is what I have heard, not only my attorneys, but from two Chester County judges and therapists/professionals in the double digits. My divorce and custody case was/is far from the norm. It has turned out to be a very challenging, trying, and emoti...onal divorce/custody matter since 2013. Every step of the way, LaMonaca Law has been there for me in every possible way. Being falsely accused of matters that separates a parent their child is one of the most difficult and emotional situations a parent can go through. It is also one of the hardest things to combat and expose the truth, especially as a father and especially when the falsely accusing parent has an agenda to rid the falsely accused parent from the child’s life forever. This has been my situation. After hearing my story and studying my case, Greg and his staff had complete faith in me and what I was fighting for. I was so impressed with LaMonaca Law, in the way they showed professionalism around my case. To simply review one person at LaMonaca Law is inadequate, because the firm doesn’t work as just one person. And to simply give five stars without amplifying context is inadequate, because five stars doesn’t do the stunning quality and exceptional performance of this family law firm sufficient justic...e. I came to LaMonaca Law by referral after receiving a negative custody evaluation six weeks before a scheduled trial. Because the trial was the culminating event in a three year custody battle, the custody evaluation’s results had convinced my former attorney that my cause was hopeless. To the evaluator, I was a selfish, aggressive person who couldn't put my children's needs ahead of my own. Saying I faced an uphill battle is an overwhelming understatement. From our first call, Greg believed in me. He saw the evaluation’s fallacies and understood I was striving to be a loving, caring Dad and willing to fight for my children. I also was committed to the LaMonaca Law process, which, first and foremost, obligated me to acknowledge things I genuinely needed to work on to be the best Dad and co-parent I can be. In six weeks, the LaMonaca Law team mobilized for trial, and made me the firm’s priority. This time frame is almost impossible, but LaMonaca Law made it happen. The Team concept is critical to understanding the value LaMonaca Law provides. Greg works like the conductor of an orchestra, or as the front man of a rock band (think of him as the Mick Jagger or Axl Rose of LaMonaca Law). He’s the face and force that keep the Team together, and the energy and emotion to keep the music going. His vision and tools—such as Brutally Honest, VAKOG, and his books—harmonize everyone’s collective capacity to play on and move the Team ahead at full tilt. The trial result was phenomenal. Although as a team we prepared extensive evidence identifying the custody evaluation’s flaws, the judge essentially observed the same flaws in the report our team was prepared to present. The judge then disregarded the custody evaluation and refused to consider diagnosis or conclusions. The result was a favorable custody order that achieved our team goal: obtaining fair custodial time and a custody schedule to enable me to be the best Dad and co-parent I can be. While the trial result was as much of a best case scenario as any of us had envisioned, LaMonaca Law is not just about winning, but instead about becoming team members for the long run. Custody matters rarely stop at one trial or hearing, and often go back to court many times before children turn 18. As such, the foundation LaMonaca Law and I have formed allows me to go forward as a Dad and co-parent with commitment, resilience, and strength. I’m a combat veteran, and when writing letters of recommendation for people with whom I served, one of the lines I often use is: I would trust this person with my life and the lives of my family. With LaMonaca Law, I did exactly that, and more. For me, this custody battle was as much of an equivalent to combat as I’ve experienced since leaving military service. The difference was that while combat measured what I would willingly die for, pursuing a fair custody order defined what I want to live for: being a father for my children. While I certainly hope I am not obligated to enter this arena of strife again anytime soon, if compelled to do so again, I will go with LaMonaca Law in a heartbeat.
