I contacted Mathew at the suggestion of a top, established real estate agent who told me Mathew was the best on Long Island. I had an acute situation with a horrible tenant who was supposed to vacate, and instead, notified me that same day that she was not leaving, despite the fact I had a new tenant... scheduled to move in shortly thereafter. My family hired Matt Tannenbaum to help resolve a very thorny dispute with a neighbor who was trying to block the sale of my family's home by claiming adverse possession. Matt entered the case swiftly, defined the options, parameters and possible options, both legal and through negotiations. It was a... difficult saga lasting more than a year, but despite the obstacles, Mat helped navigate us through interactions with several lawyers, real estate agents, surveyors and other officials to a successful conclusion.

We retained Matt to deal with this nightmare Landlord who took us to court for holdover. We were renting this place as our house was being lifted due to the hurricane damage. As the construction delayed we had to extend the lease. At the second time extension, this greedy landlord wanted us to pay... a lot more. That was so unreasonable that we asked the rental office to negotiate the terms before we sign. They refused to do so and took us to court for holdover instead. I contacted Matt for initial consultation and he was very understanding of our situation, and we did exactly what he advised us to do on the first court date. After that we formally retained him to represent us. Although he had so much going on that time, he was always caring, returning my call quickly or gave me a call to provide updates as it occurs. He was taking the time to explain what to expect next and even called our contractor to get clarification on the timing to make sure we would not vacate the apartment too soon if the offer was accepted by both parties.
